The identity of the the mysterious howl that the Sound Energy Detector received was the voice of the vocal exercises that Emilia Jiinasu performed facing snowy mountains. Emilia aimed at being a singer due to the influence of Lynn Minmei, and she ascetically practised singing on a frontier planet. Although Emilia recognized that she personally lost in the song confrontation with Basara, Basara also recognized her songs, and was able to know that she had a considerable amount of Song Energy.

In the battle with the Meltran Kurore Fleet, the Macross 7 Fleet carried out the Minmei Attack with Sound Force. The legendary strategy was tremendously effective, and the Macross 7 Fleet splendidly repelled the gone-astray Zentraadi Fleet, which was endowed with combat capabilities about 500 times that of the Macross 7 Fleet.
