The Stargazer Defolds in satellite orbit over the fourth planet of the Varohta Star System.
The Strike Force begins descending toward the Protodevilun stronghold "Polar Star".

Fire Bomber battles Gabiru.
Gamlin battles and shoots down Gabiru to protect Mylene.

Even though Max launches a reaction warhead into "Polar Star", the warhead is Space Folded by Geperunicchi.
Operation Stargazer fails, and the Strike Force becomes the captives of the Varohta Forces.

Related Matter: Operation Blue-gazer
The operation named "Blue-gazer" is one that Max didn't tell the Strike Force, and was arranged in absolute secrecy. It was a complementary operation to "Operation Stargazer", and was put into operation when the Strike Force's combat capabilities went below 1/10 of its initial capability. The operation was supposed to be completed by Max penetrating into the enemy stronghold "Polar Star" in a lone aircraft, and attacking with a Reaction Warhead.

Caption: Max, who had penetrated into the cave while the Strike Force distracted the enemy, launched a reaction warhead in accordance with the initial objective.

Caption: After that, while Max gave the order for the Strike Force to withdrawal, he personally remained at the scene to not let the enemy approach the Reaction Weapon.

Zomudo and Goramu take the Macross 5 citizens hostage and raids the Macross 7 Fleet.

Even though Sybil comes flying into the battlefield, cooperates with Basara, and repels Zomudo and Goramu, she personally stops functioning.
Basara makes Sybil listen to his song. Although Sybil revives, Basara collapses.

Related Matter: The Tactics That Zomudo And Goramu Used
The tactics used by Zomudo and Goramu against Basara is one that used the special characteristics of an Anima Spiritia, who regenerates the Spiritia of other people, against him. They absorbed the Spiritia from the Macross 5 citizens within the chambers at the same time as Basara's Song Energy was poured on and regenerated their Spiritia. By repeating that, it enabled an inexhaustible supply of Spiritia, and as a result, they acquired overwhelming abilities.
