#01 Contact With The Zentraadi
In 2009, the SDF-1 Macross cruised aiming at returning to the Earth, while being subjected to the pursuit of the Zentraadi. However, in the middle of that, Ichijo Hikaru becomes the prisoner of the Zentraadi from an unexpected accident, and came to know a fragment of their secret.

The Macross sustains a Zentraadi raid.
The Macross takes ordinary people on board, and Space Folds as is.
The Macross starts on a voyage toward the Earth.
The Macross battles the Zentraadi Forces. Enemy forces penetrate inside the ship.
Ichijo Hikaru rescues Lynn Minmei.

Related Matter: [Other] The Zentraadi Invasion
The SDF-1 Macross, which was built as a repaired alien space ship, sustains a Zentraadi attack on South Ataria Island, when its Space Launch Ceremony was being held in February, 2009. The Macross accommodated the island's civilians, failed even though it tried to escape to the other side of the Moon by Space Fold, and Defolded in Pluto's orbit. In addition, they experienced the accident where the Fold System had disappeared. Thus, they started on a long voyage to return to the Earth.

2009:
Minmei gets in touch with Hikaru.
Hikaru takes Minmei outside of the ship, and heads toward Saturn.

2009:
Misa and Kaifun pursue Hikaru, and head toward Saturn.
The Zentraadi forces appear. Hikaru, Minmei, Misa, and Kaifun are captured.
Fokker pursues Hikaru and others, and storms the enemy ship, and is restrained.

2009:
Hikaru and others are subjected to Buritai 7018's interrogation.
Buritai suffers a shock from [seeing] a kiss.
Hikaru and Misa escape from the enemy ship. They head toward the Earth.

Related Matter: The Existence Of The Meltrandi Forces
The Meltrandi Forces who attacked the Zentraadi Forces are an army composed only of females, and they have opened up combat with the Zentraadi extending over 500,000 cycles. Incidentally, the Zentraadi Forces and Meltrandi Forces are Living-Body Weapons, which were created by an existence called the Protoculture, and they are considered to be the same existence - if one gets to the bottom of their origins. However, both parties completely cannot communicate such things as the reason why they confront each other.
