The Prosperity and Decline of the Protoculture
The "Galactic Empire Fragmentation War" between the two major powers of the Protoculture is thought to have been a fierce war involving advanced combat weapons such as the Zentrādi. Nevertheless, the activities of the Protoculture during this period were not devoted solely to war. Rather, the dominance and technology of the Protoculture were at their peak, and they were engaged in a wide range of activities other than quasi-battle actions, such as searching for candidate planets for emigration and developing semi-organic cyborgs equipped with Fold Quartz—such as the "Bird Man" (it is also believed that the Protoculture reached the alien Vajra's homeworld during this period, and left their ruins on it).
However, the development of the Ehvil Series of Super Bio-weapons prompted the birth of the Protodevilun, which became the proximate cause of the Protoculture's destruction.
⬢ History of the Protoculture
Roughly 500,000 years ago is considered to be the first year of the Protoculture Calendar (PC), and it is thought that it took about 2,000 for the Protoculture to expand into space. After that, they intermittently waged war while developing such things as the Zentrādi and the space fold devices. However, the Protoculture went into decline due to the Protodevilun. They were unable to stop the Zentrādi from running amok, and were wiped out many years later.

• The prototype test operation of the Ehvil Series begins.
• The 7 kinds of Ehvil Series in 7 forms are taken over by mental-energy lifeforms from the Sub-universe, and are transformed into the Protodevilun.
• The Protodevilun invasion begins. |

• 9 months after the invasion of the Protodevilun begins, over 85% of Protoculture are dead.
• 1 year after the appearance of the Protodevilun, the power of the Protodevilun begins to rapidly decline.
• The existence of Anima Spiritia—who have the power to subdue the Protodevilun—is confirmed.
• The Protodevilun are sealed away in a special chamber by the Anima Spiritia. |

• The Protoculture's flow of development from a primitive civilization to an agricultural and then an industrial civilization is similar to that of Earth's humans. After that, it seems that, their territorial expansion seems to have been rapid after they expanded into space.
• The form of the Protoculture's religion is unknown. However, they are said to have deified the alien Vajra, and systematized their biological functions with technology.
⬢ The Fruits of the Protoculture
The Protoculture once codified "Over Technology", including the space fold mechanism, and put them to practical use (some say it was obtained by analyzing the capabilities of the Vajra). They also excelled in technologies related to such things as genetic manipulation and bio-weapons.

• The Protoculture developed supersized ships, Battle Pods and so on to be operated by the Zentrādi, as well as the semi-organic cyborg "Bird Man" for monitoring candidate planets for emigration.
▶ Zentrādi
The Zentrādi are a 10 m tall race used in combat that were created based on the Protoculture's genes, and have strong bodies. However, their genetic structure when converted to micron size is the same as that of the humans from Earth.

• There are different types of Zentrādi, such as a commander type and a soldier type, and they are "produced" at the Factory Satellites.

After the destruction of the Protoculture, some of their technology, such as the common Fold Engine and the heavy quantum reaction beam cannon, were inherited by the Zentrādi and the Inspection Forces. However, the Zentrādi did not even have maintenance skills, so they could not develop their own technology. After that, Earth also obtained OTM via the ASS-1.
⬢ Expanding to Other Planets
The Protoculture were dispatching survey teams to planets in the galaxy. It seems that their purpose was to expand their territory, search for candidate planets for emigration, and to create sub-Protoculture races that were to be used as worker races in the future. The Protoculture also stopped by the ancient Earth, and genetically manipulated a primitive species to create the ancestors of the Earth's human race. They placed the "Bird Man" on Earth as a monitoring device.

• One clan of shrine maidens, who strongly inherited the blood of the primitive humans on Earth, were the ones responsible for the resurrection of the "Bird Man".

⬢ The Demise of the Protoculture
What decimated the Protoculture in their heyday was the Protodevilun, a mutation of the Ehvil Series super bio-weapons that the Protoculture had created. The Protoculture sealed the rampaging Protodevilun away, but by then the Protoculture were weakened, and they were wiped out just after that.

▶ Protodevilun (Gurabiru)
The form of the Ehvil Series when possessed by higher-dimensional energy life-forms. Single-handedly, one Protodevilun has a combat capability greater than that of a Zentrādi fleet.

• The Protoculture sealed the Protodevilun away. However, they weren't able to regain control of the Zentrādi, and that led to the extinction of the Protoculture.
