Related Matter: The South Ataria Island Refugees
Many of the civilians within the ship, who called themselves "Macross citizens", were refugees of South Ataria Island (there were also some tourists and media related people who came from beyond the island and were visiting the island on the day of the Macross Space Launch Ceremony). Consequently, South Ataria Island's time zone was used as is for the daylight hours inside the Macross. Although the living environment itself was relocated from the island, it was continuously improvised until it finally resulted in the construction of a high-grade urban environment, and the memories of the vitality of the original islanders hung on the inhabitants' minds.

Caption: Although most of the Macross citizens were refugees of South Ataria Island, there were also people from outside of the island who, like Lynn Minmei, had come to see the Space Launch Ceremony.

Caption: The husband and wife South Ataria Island Neighbourhood Association Chairperson. Even in the general residential areas of the Macross they served as-is as the chairperson of the civilian section.

Extra Report: "Nyan-nyan" Thereafter
The Chinese restaurant "Nyan-nyan", which is know as the place where Lynn Minmei served as the figurehead, was relocated as-is from South Ataria Island into the ship, in the exact same way as many of the shops in the other districts in the ship. Within the ship, Nyan-nyan was a popular restaurant with civilians and soldiers alike, as it was the first to restart business, making do with the rations distributed by the military, and Minmei was there as the pretty girl who attracts customers to come inside the shop. That "Nyan-nyan" continued to do business even after the First Interstellar War, and its performance stretched out so that in 2059, it was the leading large chain store in the galaxy.

Caption: The 2009 "Nyan-nyan" that was inside the Macross. At that time, Minmei's uncle and his wife privately owned the store and took care of it.

Caption: [F] The "Nyan-nyan" Frontier store in 2059. Even though it is a branch store, it prospered as a chain restaurant.
