Super Long Range Emigrant Fleets
The Other Emigrant Fleets That The Human Race Invited To Space

The encounter with the Zentraadi, who are the orphans of the Protoculture, created a great paradigm shift in the human race. It started from the ASS-1 coming down on South Ataria Island in 1999, and it reached its peak due to the First Interstellar War with the Zentraadi, that suddenly broke out in 2009. In that conflict, some of the Zentraadi also collaborated with the human race, and the human race fortunately won. However, the Earth was almost annihilated, and the majority of the total population became victims. Due to that experience, it had became impossible for the human race to continue living in peace on the Earth as-is, without knowing about everything else. It is because there is the possibility of another gigantic war with aliens at some time, similar to the one that put the human race on the verge of the edge of extinction.
Based on that experience, the human race started the "Mankind Sowing Project" in 2012, to carry out emigration aimed at the whole universe, in order to not let the seed -called Earth's mankind- and its culture become extinct. The Megaroad 01 was used in the First Emigrant Fleet; the ship was a remodelling of the incomplete Macross Class No.2 ship, which was in the midst of construction during the interstellar war. After that, a lot of Megaroad Class Emigrant Ships were built and departed up to the end of the 2020's.
The New Macross Class Super Long Range Emigrant Fleet came to be built and took the place of the Megaroad Class when mankind entered the 2030's. The scale of the New Macross Class drastically exceeded that of the Megaroad Class, and its structure as a fleet also became complicated, with a great number of accompanying ships that had specialized purposes, such as Environment Ships and Factory Ships, in addition to the residential ships where people lived. The New Macross Class Fleets became something that was huge, yet perfected to the extent where one can say that the fleet was one world where the human race can live. Also, the Island Cluster Class was developed -which drastically increased the capacity of the population accommodated in the New Macross Class-, and they enabled the option of voyaging permanently if a planet suitable for emigration wasn't found. The day when the Emigrant Fleet becomes mankind's second hometown may come some day.

Related Matter: The Relationship Between Fellow Emigrant Fleets
As the purpose is "sowing mankind", the mutual Emigrant Fleets intentionally change their destination, and there are few that have basically close routes. However, there is a relationship of bilateral cooperation, as they are comrades that have the same goal. There are also examples of the cooperation, such as one fleet inviting other fleets to the Emigrant Planets that they discovered, like the Macross 5 Fleet who discovered planet Rax; and the famous singers that are known even in other fleets holding concerts that tour each fleet. It seems that the fleets often mutually visited each other, in a travel sense, due to Fold Navigation. However, the fleets have an existence that can be called small countries, and disputes were occasionally produced that originated from the differences in their culture and ideology, and from their economic interests.

A Lot Of Emigrant Fleets Started On Journeys To The Galaxy
Since the conclusion of the First Interstellar War, many space emigrations were planned over a period of about half a century, and Emigrant Fleets also exist among them that had historic discoveries and experiences. Even though the Macross 7, which fought in the Varohta Campaign, and the Macross 25, which experience the Varohta Campaign, are conspicuous examples of that, what is described here concerns the fleets other than those two.

Caption: What the First Interstellar War brought wasn't only OTM. The eyes of the human race turned toward the universe, and it proved to be the chance to expand into space.

The 2010's To The 2020's: The Megaroad Class Emigrant Fleets
Down: SDF-2 Megaroad 01
The Macross Class No.2 ship was improved upon, and its livability was improved. Thereafter, this ship became the standardized Megaroad Class Emigrant Ship.

Caption: Hayase Misa was selected as the Megaroad 01's captain because of her meritorious service in the First Interstellar War. After that, contact with the Megaroad 01 was cut off in 2016, and it hasn't been found since.

Left: SDF-14 Megaroad 13
The fleet was seized and became the "Varohta Forces" when Staff Officer Gunther was possessed by the Protodevilun, while investigating the Varohta Star that they discovered.

The New Macross Class Super Long Range Emigrant Fleets In The 2030's
Down: NMCV-001 Macross 1
The Emigrant Fleet that became the standard-bearer of the New Macross Class Super Long Range Emigrant Fleets. The earliest were not yet equipped with a defensive partition (shell) that covered the residential area. It departed the Earth in 2030 as the 31st Emigrant Fleet, a count total from the era that used the Megaroad Class.

Caption: The New Macross Class from the Macross 1 settled the fleet structure with each Environment Ship, a residential mainland that's like a bivalve, and a Battle Class vessel that specializes in combat.

Down: NMCV-005 Macross 5
As the Zentraadi corporation General Galaxy Co. manufactured the Mainland and Environment Ships, each ship has an exterior close to that of a Zentraadi made armament. It discovered planet Rax in 2045, tried to migrate to the planet, and the fleet itself was captured by the Varohta Forces.

Caption: The citizens are entirely composed of Zentraadi. It's thought that they had latent fear toward the Protodevilun, and were powerless against the Varohta attack.

Left: Macross 5
Even though the composition of the fleet is standardized, its greatest feature is the green shell that gives the impression of a Zentraadi vessel.

Down: Battle 5
Although such things as its transformation function are identical to the other Battle Class vessels, Zentraadi style designs can be seen everywhere on it.

Down: NMCV-011 Macross 11
A New Macross Class Super Long Range Emigrant Fleet that has a composition close to that of the Macross Frontier Fleet. Even though it has the standardized composition as an Emigrant Fleet from that generation, furnished with a Mainland and Environment Ships, giant panel shaped equipment, which also appear to be wings, are installed on the Mainland.

Caption: During the Vajra Campaign in 2059, a swarm of Vajra, who were manipulated by Grace and others from the Galaxy Fleet, besieged the Macross 11, and the fleet was exposed to their fierce attack.

Down: NMCV-021 Macross 21
As the fleet that the General Galaxy Co. directly invested in, it is known by the "Galaxy Fleet" name. Beginning with the armaments it retains, advanced technology that seems to be from the General Galaxy Co. is installed everywhere, and instead of using the typical Bio-plant style that circulates materials, the fleet uses an airtight style Chemical Planet.

Caption: Many of the citizens have conducted a mechanization of their body, referred to as Implants, and each system within the fleet's structure and within the fleet was also produced on the premise of implants.

Up: Macross Galaxy Mainland
Its shape is greatly different from the Mainlands in the other fleets, and one can infer the originality of its systems.

Right: Battle Galaxy
Although the appearance of the Battle Class is close to that of the Battle Class vessels in the other fleets, it's possible to say that the Battle Galaxy is an exception in relation to its control over its war fleet.

Related Matter: Other Well-known Macross Fleets
In addition to the above-mentioned fleets, known fleets are the Macross 4, which discovered the planet Sephira; the Macross 9, which is known for Canary Minmei -who was called the second coming of Lynn Minmei-; and the Macross 29, which persisted with unarmed neutrality.

Caption: [Other] Even though the Macross 13 Fleet outwardly appeared to be a missing number, in reality, it was built, and a battle record of the combat vessel Battle 13 also exists. [Source: Macross VF-X2]
