Various Planets
The planets with an environment similar to the Earth
A large number of Emigrant Fleets set sail to various parts of the galaxy in the Humankind Dissemination Plan, and they discovered many planets. Among the discovered planets, there are many that have actually been colonized by the fleets. It is difficult to find suitable planets for humans to live on in the vast galaxy. However, the number of planets inhabited by humankind is steadily increasing due to such things as the existence of a large number of emigrant ships that departed irregardless of whether they are part of the public or private sectors, the spread of Fold technology, the terraforming technology that seems to have been appropriated from the Earth Regeneration Project, and the planetary alterations that have used that technology (information provided by the Zentrādi is also considered to have considerably contributed to the discovery of suitable planets). Among those planets, the Planet Eden discovered in 2013, the Varōta System discovered in 2025, and the Vajra Homeworld discovered in 2059 are known to be habitable. In addition, there are also planets such as Neo York, New Asia, Christrania, Susia, Dahan, Belfan, Elysium, Eden 3, Volcan*, Sephira, and Endevaldo. However, it's not known whether any of them are suitable or not for residence. Even though many planets have been discovered, there are few A-class habitable planets. And there are also planets with poor environments that they couldn't help but emigrate to; such as planets that are inclined toward extreme weather and terrain, and geography that is distant from the main planets (the so-called remote planets). Those planets are mainly used for resource mining, and agricultural and livestock farming. However, due to their harsh environments, many residents are opposed to the New Unified Government, and it is not unusual for them to become hotbeds for terrorist organizations. In addition to that sort of political importance, the planets that could be discovered were also found to have cultural anthropological value. Traces of civilization were found on multiple planets, and some planets also had there own life-forms. Many of those life-forms have been noted as being related to the Protoculture, indicating that the living space of Earth's humankind is approaching the former living space of the Protoculture.

Related Matter: Species Unique to Each Planet*
Captions:
• If a Zolan from planet Zola used a Miclone Device, they could also become giant-sized.1

• The Zolans wear a symbiotic creature—called a Cat-Snakey—around their necks.2

Translator's notes: in the original Ed., they were: 1 "If they used a Miclone Device, ..." 2 "They wear a symbiotic creature ..."

While exploring planets they could relocate to, humankind also encountered species unique to the planets. Among them, the Zola people on Planet Zola have the characteristics of a sac-like organ in their abdomen. However, their other body structures and intelligence are the same as those of Earth's humankind, and it seems that they could also mate with Earthlings.

* Translator's note: in the original Ed. it was: "The Unique Human Races Of Each Planet".

Sheet A Reverse

Planet Zola
Planet Zola already had its own humanoid race and culture when it was discovered by humans from Earth. The cultural level in the late 2040's is close to that of developed countries on Earth in the first half of the 20th century (Zolans have radio, but they don't have television, and so on and so forth). However, they seem to have obtained spacecraft and VFs through contact with Earth's humankind, and there is a bias toward them in the Zolan's technological level. Zola is characterized by a hydrosphere and untouched natural areas that are both extremely large, probably because urban development hasn't progressed very far. Zola doesn't seem to have become a destination for the migration of Earth's humankind, because the propagation of germs on the planet is remarkable—due to the influence of the migratory Galactic Whales—and even small injuries can be life-threatening. As machines are also disrupted when the Galactic Whales draw near, that also made Zola unsuitable even for sightseeing.

• Zola is a planet with a ring in orbit. The ring is made up of a myriad of small bodies and is sometimes called an "asteroid belt".

• Many of the small bodies that make up the ring are spacecraft-class masses of rock.

• The ring seems to be near a low Earth orbit, and can be observed from the ground.
Zolan Language Zolans have a Zola-specific language. Given that the letters are also unique, some of the models of computers used on Zola display the Zolan language. However, the letters currently used are different from the old ones, and it seems that only the symbiotic Cat -Snakey are able to read the old letters.
Captions:
• An old harbour city set up in a coastal area. Spacecraft can also be launched in the sea from the harbour instead of from runways.

• A waterfall that is believed to pass along the energy of the dead Galactic Whales. The water is warm, and has a healing effect.

• A graveyard where the Galactic Whales—having reached the end of their life—fall into. The Galactic Whales that burn out here "give back" to Planet Zola.
Zola's Environment Zola has natural areas such as hydrospheres, forests, and arid regions, and it's possible to say that it is a suitable environment for living in—except for the problem of the excessive propagation of germs. What is special about Zola is that it has a strong connection to the Galactic Whales, and the ecosystem has formed to include the herds of Galactic Whales.

• The plants are very similar to those on Earth, but the trees also have structures that appear to be rhizomes.

Zola's Flora and Fauna Zola's flora and fauna are similar to those of the Earth. However, most animals are marsupials, so to speak, with a pouch in the abdomen (the pouches are not necessarily for child-rearing). This is the same for the indigenous Zolan people, who have the characteristics of Zola's creatures.

Planet Rax
Captions:
• The cove that the Macross 7 Fleet descended into. The surrounding area was forests and rolling hills, and the climate was stable.

• In addition to native creatures reminiscent of large herbivorous dinosaurs, there were also ruins that the Protoculture had left behind.
A habitable planet discovered by the Macross 5 Fleet in 2045. It had an atmospheric composition that—without modification—could be breathed by humans and Zentrādi. It was inhabited by native plants and animals in environments such as hydrospheres and forest areas that were very similar to those of the Earth. Rax was a planet suitable for colonization. However, it ceased to exist when the Protodevilun Gigiru went on a rampage.

The Remote Planet
Caption:
• The miners' village. They were searching for Barunasium Ore nearby, but they couldn't find it.

• The Remote Planet is also the place that Basara Nekki—having been drawn to a mysterious singing voice—visited and battled against the Protodevilun.
Miners seeking the precious metal Barunasium Ore have continued to mine for about 20 years on the remote planet with an unknown name. It had a cold climate around 2046, but is said to have had a vast forest spread out over the planet 2,000 years ago. There used to be clusters of the native plant called Galaxy Cosmos on the planet.
Gaul 4
Caption:
• The first generation Macross ship SDFN-4 Global had run aground on Gaul 4, and become the nest of the alien Vajra creatures.

• The 33rd Marine Corps—composed of Zentrādi troops—was stationed on Gaul 4. However, they were catastrophically damaged by the DE.
One of the planets around the red giant Gaul 1. Even though there was a breathable atmosphere, the planet's rotation period and orbital period were the same. Gaul 4 was unsuitable for habitation because the same surface was always facing Gaul 1, and the temperature difference between the day surface and the night surface was severe. In 2059, about 30% of the planet was annihilated by a Dimension Eater weapon (DE).

Vajra Homeworld
Caption:
• The surface of the planet is rich in green and has abundant water resources. Protoculture ruins have also been seen on the planet.

• There is a ring-shaped structure in orbit around the planet, and the Vajra Queen lived in the core of the ring.
The homeworld of the alien Vajra creatures. It was discovered in 2059. It is one of the few A-class habitable planets. It is also known that the Macross Frontier Fleet—having won the battle against the Macross Galaxy Fleet—has begun colonizing the planet. It is also noteworthy that there is a large amount of Fold Quartz, a rare substance, on the planet.
