Caption: The Vajra alien creature, whose existence has been confirmed since the Protoculture Age, not only has fighting abilities that surpass those of such vehicles as VFs and military space vessels, but are also unique creatures that have a network due to Fold Waves.

Vajra
The Network Creature that Exceeds Humanity's Imagination
The Vajra are ranked as network creatures because of their Fold Waves, which aren't influenced by Fold Faults (hereafter "Super Fault Folds"). Based on types that have an external appearance similar to bugs, the Vajra have various traits, such as a diversity where various forms exist, abilities to act in space and Space Fold without being influenced by Fold Faults, and fighting capabilities that even surpass those of a VF. However, it's possible to say that their greatest feature is the point where they are called "a network creature due to Fold Waves".
"A network creature due to Fold Waves" means that all individuals are concurrent with each other because of the Fold Communications Network, and that the group shares a single intention. Although there are individuals that command the group, referred to as the Queen Vajra or Semi-Queen, the Vajra don't have the concept of the individual.
When one considers the Vajra group to be one individual, then the Fold Communications Network isn't something only for unifying the Vajra's intentions, but plays a role similar to the Vajra's nervous system. When some individuals sustain damage because of a new threat, that information is fed back into the network and analyzed, and the other individuals acquire resistance to that threat. Specifically, when some Vajra are killed by Reaction Weapons, in a short time, all Vajra come to have a resistance to Reaction Weapons.
The material called Fold Quartz secures the Vajra's series of abilities. Fold Quartz is a substance that emits Higher-Dimensional Super-Fault Fold Waves, and hardly exists in the natural world. However, the Vajra have the trait of collecting Fold Quartz, and they have Fold Quartz crystals inside their bodies. As a result, it enables such things as Fold Communications, independent Space Folds, and Heavy Quantum Reaction Beam Gun.
The Vajra who possess such abilities are alien creatures that have existed from before the Protocultures' Interstellar Republic, similar to the Galactic Whales, and the Protocultures deified their existence.

Related Matter: The Technology Modelled On The Vajra
The Protoculture deified the Vajra, mimicked their appearance and produced the "Bird-man", which was an observation device for planets that were candidates for immigration. Even excluding that, the Protoculture appear to have implemented systems that were modelled on the Vajra's abilities. Considered to be representative of that are such things as Heavy Quantum Reaction Beam Guns and Energy Conversion Armour. It is guessed that these technologies were diverted into such things as the Zentraadi warships and Battle Pods.

Caption: The Heavy Quantum Reaction Beam Gun has the strongest power among the beam armaments, and it was used in such things as the the main gun of the large warships.

The Various Forms That The Vajra Have
Each Vajra performs several roles, centring on the superior individuals that are called the Vajra Queen and Semi-Queen, and a great number of individuals, which are classified as Large or Small Vajra, carrying out such things as Fold Quartz collection and combat actions. One of the special characteristics of the Vajra is that their outward appearance is quite different depending on the type. For instance, with the high-ranking queen and the Large and Small Vajra, besides the outward appearance, you may say that such things as the size, details and functions completely differ. Especially the types that are called the Bishop class and Knight class, which have roles as the Large and Small Vajra carriers, and have an outward appearance that's close to a battleship. Thus, even though the Vajra have varied types, they function as one group.

Caption: A Large Vajra which can be said to be for combat. The differences with the Small Vajra, which is assigned roles that are almost equal to the Large Vajra, can be seen in such things as its outward appearance and abilities.

Caption: Even though the Carrier type Vajra have an external appearance that's completely different from the other Vajra, they have basically the same kind of existence.

Related Matter: The Vajra's Fighting Capabilities
More than their total number, even individual Vajra are endowed with great fighting capabilities. Even the VF-171, which is the the New Unified Forces main VF in the 2050's, cannot rival the general soldier type of Vajra, which leaves much destruction behind it.

Caption: The individual that's called the Small Vajra easily defeated the VF-171 and has a performance that approaches that of the VF-25.

The Functions of Each Part of the Vajra
The illustration below is the type among the Vajra that's referred to as the typical "Large Vajra". It has the outward appearance of a large bug, and has such things as a Heavy Quantum Reaction Beam Gun and missile-like bio-armaments, an outer skin that functions as Energy Conversion Armour, and air and space flight abilities that seem to use a bio-Space Fold mechanism. The Vajra exceed the biological limits that Earth's humanity imagines. A feature of the Vajra is the point that they have hardly any organs that correspond to a brain for "thinking", as their guts (intestinal bacteria that has Fold Quartz) are a terminal in the Fold Communications Network.

A Head
The Vajra pretty much don't have an organ that's called the brain, and they can act even if their head is destroyed. It's possible to say that their head is only one of their sensory organs.

B Intestines
The Fold Communications Network is constructed by intestinal bacteria, called the V-Type Bacterium (the Vajra Bacterium), which contains Fold Quartz.

C Bio-Armaments
The Vajra have such things as Heavy Quantum Reaction Beam Guns, biologically constructed missiles, and anti-missile defence mechanisms. They can even destroy the New Unified Forces main fighter with a single blow.

D Bio-Defensive Mechanisms
The Vajra's outer skin consisted of Energy Conversion Armour. It is difficult for typical VF and Battle Suit firearms to penetrate it.

E Propulsion Organ
The Vajra have realized a gravity control mechanism at a biological level, and they seem to perform space and atmospheric flight. It's thought that Fold Quartz is their power source.

The Special Characteristics of the Vajra
The special characteristics of the Vajra, which are that they are a "network creature due to Fold Waves", and fighting abilities that surpass those of the main VF, are largely due to the Vajra Bacterium within their guts and Fold Quartz. Their traits as a living creature are close to those of group-type insects, and the Vajra group forms a network centred on the queen.

Caption: The intestinal bacteria that support the Vajra's Fold Communications Network. The Vajra can emit Super-Fault Fold Waves, as they have Fold Quartz Bacterium inside their intestines.

A Network Creature due to Fold Waves
Due to Higher-Dimensional Super-Fault Fold Waves, the Vajra form a concurrent Fold Communications Network within the entire group. The queen forms the center of the network, and the network is also used to acquire resistance due to feeding back information from the Vajra that have been attacked.

Caption: What's called Zero Time Fold Communication enables systematic action without regard to distance possible by communicating without time lag.

The Existence of a "Queen"
A central individual, which becomes a network host, exists in the Vajra. That is the Queen or the Semi-Queen Vajra, who's existence is based on the queen. The queen and semi-queen also exist to govern the Vajra's breeding.

Caption: At the time of 2059, the Queen Vajra existed at the Vajra Home-World, and the Semi-Queen existed at the planet Gaul 4. The Semi-Queen died in combat with the Frontier Fleet.

Growth to Adulthood by Oviparity and Moulting
The Vajra are oviparous (produced from eggs). Even though the queen and semi-queen are the main producers of the eggs, it's thought that other individuals also lay eggs. The Vajra that are born from eggs are called larvae, and they become the form that is referred to as the Second Form after a second molting.

Caption: The larval Vajra don't have an insect-like shape until the Second Form. The larvae also appear to eat normal meals.

Advanced Combat Abilities
Vajra have such things as beam guns and machine-guns, missiles and Energy Conversion Armour at the biological level. Besides their remarkably high manoeuvrability, they are also able to Space Fold while disregarding Fold Faults. It's thought that such things as their Heavy Quantum Reaction Beam Guns and Space Fold abilities are abilities that are due to Fold Quartz.

Caption: Even though the Vajra are living things, they have bio-armaments that correspond to beam guns, machine-guns and missiles. Their defensive capabilities also surpass those of a VF in Battroid form.
