Related Matter: The Bridge And The CIC
The tactical command of the vessels being managed by the bridge is due to the influence of visually obtained information on tactics. However, the drafting of tactics and the acquisition of huge amounts of information, which don't rely on visuals due to the development of such things as sensors and radar, came to be entrusted to the CIC (Combat Information Center). But in the case of the Macross ships, probably due to performing such things as close hand-to-hand combat, a lot of traditional methods were adopted, such as the bridge, with its vast field of vision, taking command of the ship.

Caption: Although the Battle Frontier itself also performed hand-to-hand combat, it used a CIC probably due to its focus on the role of commanding the fleet.
