Your first mission is to mop up the enemy land forces. You dive down to the surface of the planet, then assault the enemy bases according to the operator's directions.
Now, it's time to put Operation Orpheus into action!

"The Milky Dolls" vocal group, who were invited as special guests, were kidnapped in the middle of the Anniversary Ceremony for the establishment of the Unified Forces.
The Executive of the Armed Forces, who thought much of this accident, commanded the forces to search for the anonymous space battleship that had committed the kidnapping and had run away by Fold Drive (a system for travelling in hyperspace).
Thus, planet Elysium, which was on the edge of the galaxy and was once counted as a candidate planet for Emigration, was revealed to be the strong point for the Zentrans who showed an anti Unified Government attitude [and had kidnapped The Milky Dolls].
With contemplation of the peculiarities of the accident, the Unified Forces Headquarters gave the following understanding: "Kidnapping like this is quite a sensitive situation. We have heard nothing from the criminals. We know almost nothing, including the conditions of rescue, their motives, and so on. So the first operation ought to be performed in secret."
With an order, the Unified Space Forces deployed one special vessel to the space area concerned with the rescue The Milky Dolls. It was the Valhalla III, a middle-class Passive Attack Sub-Carrier, whose name means 'Heaven'.

Aoi Tsuwabuki
Even though I was somewhat uneasy in my role, I wondered if I could show (the character) in whatever style there, as she is a not-at-all quiet, very cute girl character. As each of the five characters have great individuality, it was very fun to hear (everyone's voices) from the rear.
Although the Mylene role in Macross 7 felt intense as a rock group, this time, The Milky Dolls have received a very cute name (laughs). We did it with very good vibes, and it was a pleasure to finish it. I think that you can really enjoy playing the game. I really want to hear your impressions of "The Palette Of The Rainbow" that we sang for the ending.

Caption: The heroine of this production. She's 14 years old. As she's quiet, she usually doesn't display her emotions on the outside. As she's unconcerned with talk, her words are also scarce. If anything, she is a girl with a gloomy feeling.

Caption: She has the role of facilitating the group members. She's 19. Liatris is helpful, and is an adult woman, so to speak. Her way of talking also calms them down, and she isn't perturbed by the small things.

Caption: A delinquent type of young lady. She willingly uses male language, and is a boyish girl. Molly is the type that clearly expresses the things she thinks about. Her American lineage strongly tends to appear in her personality, and she is always cheerful.

Caption: The cool type. She's 18 years old. Violeta isn't a slave to her emotions, and she often intellectually deals with things. One can say that she is a type where theory is superior to sentiment.

Caption: She is a calm senorita type. She's 17. In proportion to her age, she has an innocent personality. As her conversation is slow-moving, Freesia has a boneheaded ambiance in some respects. If Molly is the straight man in a comedy duo, then Freesia plays the the funny man role.

Valhalla III Operator: Miho Miho
After finishing her long service in Macross 7, she seems to have come to work on the Special Duty Ship "Valhalla III" (the mothership of this game). She seems to also have had a painful love in those 3 years (laughs), and she seems to behave somewhat like an adult outwardly and mentally. Although one might say that there's no difference to her childish face. Her hair has grown a little bit longer than before. Incidentally, she's 26 years old (because it's 3 years after Macross 7).

Valhalla III Operator: Karen Allen
In contrast to the child-faced Miho Miho, Karen is an operator girl with the style of a senorita. It's said that she's in the latter half of her 20's. She has long hair that resembles? that which Hayase Misa once had. As she's constantly composed, she gives accurate directions. Karen Allen is French. Her atmosphere seems to be fairly grown-up.

Valhalla III Operator: Powan Howan
The girl who takes charge of operating by Mission 03. She is, surprisingly, 10 years old! She wears an Alice [In Wonderland] style apron on her uniform because it seems that she is either concurrently the person in charge of meals, or it is merely her hobby. It might be service for the game user. In addition, even though it is difficult to see on the screen, she holds a teddy bear. Its name is Pikotan. Don't pay an undo amount of attention to that.

Valhalla III Mechanic: Euri Yui
A beautiful girl mechanic, who performs the maintenance inspections on the protagonist's favourite aircraft. She's Oriental. Compared to the other female characters, she has the manner of an unsophisticated beautiful girl that's just come out of the countryside (her hair is braided somewhat loosely). There are freckles on her face. She has goggles on her face (to protect from welding arcs). Euri is 17 years old.

Valhalla III Captain
The sole astringent place in this game. With a setting where he was originally an ace pilot, the captain has grown old, yet the glint in his eye is still sharp. He is about 50 years old. He has dark skin, and he has features like a carving. Even though his words are few, he constantly gives the crew a sense of his presence and a sense of security. He wears the captain's hat obliquely, and is a character that seems completely able to appear in a Matsumoto Reiji manga.

Rival
The ace pilot in the Zentraadi Forces. A stiffly beautiful character with the behaviour of a German aristocrat. The age of his outward appearance is in the first half of his 20's. Wherever you look, this guy has an appearance like that of the protagonist. He has long hair. With long slitted eyes, he is like the role of the beauty in a Takarazuka Revue (laughs).

Commander: Enemy Mobile Fortress Commander
The mastermind of the underground Zentraadi organization. His body has been made into a Bio-Computer (referencing the theatrical Do You Remember Love?'s Gol Bodoruza), and one of his eyes has been turned into a camera-eye. However, he isn't a complete villain, and has a position where solemnity hangs over his whole body. Outwardly, he appears to be about 60 years old. He has the appearance of an aged American actor (Marlon Brando or somebody like that...).

... and YOU
An ace pilot in the frontier. According to the setting, while he often found himself performing preeminent meritorious war service in battle, he has considerable behavioural problems, and it seems that his suitability as a pilot was held in doubt. After retiring from the armed forces, he was a Same-Day Interstellar Valkyrie Delivery driver.

The VF-1 is the first practical Variable Fighter, and was completed by using the alien Over Technology. It is known as the main fighter of the Unified Forces during the Bodoruza War, and it might also be called "Valkyrie" - which came to refer to Variable Fighters (VF) in general.
Even though the airframe is old-fashioned, its reliability is high because of the ease of its maintenance inspections. If its nimble agility is used as the airframe that is the smallest in the game, then if only the front part is improved, it can fight en par with a VF-11 class Valkyrie.
The VF-1X that appears in the game has had some of its materials, engines and avionics completely revised.

The model that's referred to as the X-Plus has a comprehensive performance when equipped with a Super Pack that matches the VF-11. However, that is the result of an overall improvement, as the normal VF-1 has already entered the classic aircraft category.

As the successor aircraft to the VF-1, the VF-4 was designed with space combat as its main point. Even though its aerodynamic traits in the atmosphere and so on don't particularly exceed the VF-1, at the beginning, the VF-4 came to be used universally in the whole area of the Unified Forces as a heavy fighter.
In exchange for sacrificing manoeuvrability, the VF-4 has improved acceleration and substantial fixed armaments. It participated actively as an attack and withdrawal heavy fighter or as an interceptor. In the VF series, the shape of its Battroid form is unique. The missiles on the pylons under the main wings are available even in Battroid, and it becomes clear that it has been designed with firepower as its main point. Also, it is the sole Valkyrie model that is able to fly at low-altitude for a short time in Battroid.
Even though an output enhanced model (the G model) -which remodels the engines of the VF-4- appears in the game, it is still an old style aircraft, similar to the VF-1.

Differing from the VF-4, which has a strong tinge as a space fighter, the VF-11 was developed as an all-purpose multipurpose fighter, like the masterpiece VF-1. In fact, this VF-11 gave birth to various derivative models, and it became the current main fighter of the Unified Forces.
Even though it is able to take various missions by exchanging such things as the armaments, its also true that the VF-11 doesn't have a forte either. However, its flying characteristics are very steady, and it's said to be an extremely suitable aircraft for new recruits.

The VF-11 that appears in the game is the commonly used B model (the initial aircraft that Isamu boarded).

The aircraft pursued stealthiness at the expense of such things as its aerodynamic characteristics, manoeuvrability, and accelerating ability. The VF-17's production number was small, and it is mainly used for special duty missions, such as pinpoint attacks on an enemy's base.
There is nothing worth special mention about its performance when in Fighter except for its secrecy. However, as a mobile weapon that is clad in heavy armour, it takes pride in its strong offensive abilities in GERWALK and Battroid forms.

The VF-17 that appears in the game is the most abundantly produced D model (the initial craft that Gamlin boarded).

It is a state-of-the-art aircraft that was adopted as an official Unified Forces aircraft after the test flights at Planet Eden's New Edwards Base. It excels in aerodynamic characteristics within the atmosphere, and it was designed with the main point on nimble manoeuvrability more than armour and firepower, even when it's in Battroid form. Also, it has Active Stealth, and it also excels in secrecy, though not to the extent of the VF-22.
It was designed with the main point of high manoeuvrability, on the other hand, its handling is delicate. The VF-19 is extremely difficult to handle for pilots who don't have skills greater than the standardized level. Also, a Pinpoint Barrier can be used in GERWALK and Battroid forms.
The VF-19 that appears in the game is the mass production A model (what is the Basara specification model...?).

A state-of-the-art aircraft that was completed by boldly introducing Zentraadi technology. It has such things as variable shape wings and a semi-Gravity Control Unit, and is also endowed with high-grade active stealthiness. In contrast to the VF-19 which skillfully fused various technologies in a balance, the VF-22 has strong tinges as an experimental aircraft.
It is the current exceedingly highest level aircraft in its high stealthiness, offensive ability, manoeuvrability, and so on. Also, the mass production model aircraft have a revised control system.
The VF-22 that appears in the game is an advance mass production aircraft, and it hasn't been assigned a model number.

The Enemy's Variable Device
Fighter Mode

A variety of new combat devices fused mankind's = the Protoculture's technology and Zentraadi technology. They are the enemy Zentraadi mechanics that appear in VF-X. Even though the Zentraadi were originally unable to do creative work, such as inventing things, while coexisting with Earth's mankind those who became acquainted with culture were changed. And then, there are the former Zentraadi soldiers who rebelled against life in Macross City, seized the VFX-11, which was equipped with a Fold Booster that was just developed at that time, and escaped to the 63,254,109th Zentraadi Outer Space District Armed Forces. They came to sow new seeds in the Zentraadi, who only knew about combat. A variety of new armaments were developed by their efforts, and it's needless to say that they were a threat as far as mankind was concerned. The appearance of the Variable Fighter Device in particular was an extraordinary shock to the Unified Forces. It demanded simple, yet absolute performance. It has all of the requirements of "faster than a fighter aircraft, stronger than a tank, more nimble than a soldier, and it must not be seen...", and the Zentraadi considered and concluded that it wouldn't permit the [Unified Force's] Valkyrie's overwhelming victories that frequently defied logic. Even though this new combat device was referred to as the Enemy Valkyrie (EVA) codename by the Unified Forces pilots, you could say that there were hardly any pilots who had actually seen it.

Enemy Data - Enemy Aircraft List
Left: Here, we introduce one by one the boss characters and the small fry characters - all 21 enemy aircraft that appear in every mission.

How To Look At The Enemy Data
The enemy data here separately introduces the armaments, durability, and manoeuvrability items. The armaments introduces the gun firearms that the enemy are equipped with. The gun firearms that the enemy uses are one of six kinds: beams, missiles, micro-missiles, dual beam guns, triple beam guns, or high-power beam. Durability is published separately for the Easy, Normal, and Hard settings. Manoeuvrability shows the that aircraft's movement speed. They are graded on 5 steps, from A to E, with A being the highest. Also, although types of the same enemy appear with different colouring also appear, you may consider them as having identical data.

Taking Up A New Post On The Valhalla III

The incident where the idol group "Milky Dolls" -who were in the middle of a surge of popularity in the whole galaxy- were kidnapped, occurred. The New Unified Forces, who saw the situation gravely, began Operation "Orpheus" to rescue the Milky Dolls. It is a secret operation to rescue the idols that rests on an assault on the enemy position with only 1 battleship.

Your duty, as the best ace pilot in the frontier, is to rush to the base of the anti-government force on planet Elysium, and while rescuing the Milky Dolls, expose the enemy's plans. The enemy aircraft that appears in this mission is only a single VF-4. As its speed is very fast, only catching the signs of the enemy is difficult if you fight it in Fighter form. You should fight in GERWALK or Battroid forms. You can easily destroy it with nothing but missile attacks if you're in GERWALK, and if you begin to operate the striking special move if you're in Battroid. The limits aren't really important, and be sure you don't get shot down.

VF-1 Valkyrie
The first Variable Tactical Fighter Aircraft was developed due to taking in substantial OTM (Over Technology of Macross), which was not yet known technology obtained from the Macross. The VF-1 was assumed to be for hand-to-hand combat with aliens that have a physique said to be 4 to 5 times that of the human race (a height of 7 m or more). It has a transformation function to the humanoid Battroid, and is also able to transform to a hovering mode = GERWALK for ground suppression. While the aircraft has the same thickness and lightness as the fighter aircraft up to that time, it possesses a strength greater than a tank, as the airframe uses new composite materials due to OTM. The VF-1 has an open-type Thermonuclear Reactor Turbine in the engines, and it boasts a roughly unlimited cruising range in the atmosphere.
