VF-0: An aircraft series that was built as the aircraft to prove the VF-1's transformation. Verification data from the F-14X was implemented in it, and it achieved its maiden flight astoundingly quickly. The armaments and transformation system matured due to the VF-0 tests, and were handed over to the VF-1.
F:14: A carrier-borne fighter aircraft from the former American Navy, which had its maiden flight in 1970. In proportion to its large build as a carrier-borne aircraft, the F-14 had a long cruising range, and also excelled in its armament carrying capacity. Entering the 21st century, OTM improvements were applied to the F-14, and it took an active part in the conclusion of the Unification War.

Others
In addition to Blocks 1-17, VF-1 that were built in the factory plants in the Emigrant Fleets (including the VF-1 that were built from now on) exist. They were each given production numbers on the airframe from the Emigrant Fleet of their birth, and are distinct from the Block production aircraft.

VF-1D
The head unit in the 2-seater training aircraft -that's used in model conversion training- is equipped with 2 monitor cameras. Among these 2 cameras, 1 is the normal monitor, and the other one is for wide-area observation and recording. After the VF-1D has returned to base, the recording is analyzed, and is also used in after-training briefing.
The shape when in Fighter is hardly different, with the exception of the length. The single-seat model's escape/survival unit space has been decreased to make room for the rear seat.
The VF-1 is a new fighter for many pilots, and the VF-1D was hurriedly completed for the pilots to adapt to such forms as GERWALK and Battroid, that they, above everything else, don't have experience with. Although the nose block was able to be separated, survivability in outer space was sacrificed for the addition of the rear seat. Because of that, the VF-1D is mostly limited to operations within the atmosphere. Consequently, the hastily made D model wasn't able to become the main aircraft of the Training Air Squadrons, and that seat was handed over to the VT-1 Super Ostrich, a dedicated training/patrol plane that appeared later.

Pg 060

VF-1G
The VF-1G is an aircraft whose mission is to be a radar site alternative, when outside of (a fighter's) radar search range; and a communications relay, early warning and flight control in the airspace of a battlefield. It was developed approximately at the same time as the start of the VF-1A's production. The prototype that was furnished with a roto-dome, which was made by remodelling one of the auxiliary YVF-1A prototypes, had its maiden flight in May 2008.
Like the VF-1D, the VF-1G's escape/survival unit space is removed, and 2 versions existed: a single-seat type which is set-up with a data-link device to a central control center or superior operations center, and a two-seater type, which has an on-board control operator stationed in the additional rear seat.
The VF-1G is equipped with such things as the at-the-time state-of-the-art long-range search radar , radar countermeasures devices, and data-link devices. It boasted a 600 km detection range and a search target number of 2,500 aircraft. It'ss said that the VF-1G could control a maximum of 36 VF-1.
Extremely few G model production aircraft were produced, because the Super Pack implementing VE-1 Elint Seeker was put into combat. As the G model is an airframe that belongs to Block 4, which was assumed to be operated within the atmosphere, all aircraft were deployed on the Earth. There are presently only 2 aircraft left, as they were almost completely annihilated during the First Interstellar War.

VF-1N
An updated type of A model due to phased modernization. The engines have been exchanged for the FF-2008 type. Also, it's a scheduled program that also replaces the avionics to an enhanced type that conforms to the VF-4. From last year, 2019, the surviving Block 9-10 airframes were sequentially improved to the N model.
Even though the externals of the N model conform to the A model, because some differences can be seen in the head design when in Battroid, it is possible to instantly distinguish it. Also, the blade antennas and panel shapes in each part of the airframe have also been exchanged for parts that improve performance.
Concerning the same Block 9-10's J and S models, a portion of the modernization improvement has been applied with such things as exchanging the engines. These airframes are respectively called the J+ (J Plus) and S+ (S Plus).

Caption: The F-14X is the general term for the F-14 that have had OTM improvements applied to them. The picture is of the one that is referred to as the F-14A++, and is an experimental aircraft that vectored thrust [nozzles] installed on it. It features an outward appearance with incisions in the bottom edge of the vertical tails so as to not obstruct the nozzle's motion. The avionics, which also includes the Aircraft Control System and the RFCS, are also the latest ones.
In the test flight when the picture was taken, a Gun Pod -which is considered to be a prototype model of the one for the VF-1- is suspended under the fuselage, probably to get aerodynamic data.

Caption: ARMD class
The ARMD class was built from the 1st ship until the 14th ship (a plan to build the 15th and onward also existed). A fold system was built-into the 11th to 14th warships, and the ARMD-11 Kiev caught up and merged with the Megaroad Fleet that had gone ahead.

Caption: CVS-101
The Prometheus, the 1st ship in the Prometheus class. After it had become the right arm of the Macross, its registration was erased.

Caption: SDF-1
The Macross, the 1st ship in the Macross class. Originally it was an alien ship called ASS-1. It brought a lot of OT to mankind.

Caption: SDF-2
Even though it had started being built at the Apollo Base on the surface of the Moon as the 2nd ship in the Macross class, the construction plan was interrupted by the outbreak of the First Interstellar War.

Caption: Megaroad class
A remodelling of the SDF-2, which was in the middle of construction as an Emigrant Ship, in accordance with the "Mankind Seeding Project". Upon completion, it was the Megaroad 01.

*1 A VF squadron is composed of an average of about 16 to 20 aircraft.
*2 In addition to the VF-1 squadrons, such things as Lancer II squadrons, VE-1 Early Warning squadrons, and Ghost squadrons were also deployed to the ARMD-1 and 2, which were the initial ARMD class carriers.
*3 The ARMD-2 was half damaged at the time of the Macross's Space Launch. A part of its VF-1 squadrons were lost.
*4 The Zentraadi survivors after the First Interstellar War were said to be about 8 million. 50% of them were micronized by the end of 2010.
*5 In February 2012, the SDF-1 Macross, which had come down to the Earth, was used as that city's facilities, the base of the Earth's revival, and the New Unified Forces' temporary headquarters.

The Prometheus's Carrier-borne Aircraft (at the time of Feb. 2009)

Caption: VF-1 Valkyrie
The Unified Forces main Variable Fighter. In addition to the flight squadrons that provide direct fighter cover for the CVS-101, a lot of units came and went for sea training.

Caption: L.V.T. Avenger II
A twin-engined ship-board attack aircraft. It's loading capacity is high, and it can suspend munitions on a total of 8 places on the left and right under the wings -5 unguided bombs on a rack-, and on the wingtip hardpoints.

Caption: F/A-20N Dragon II
The Unified Forces main fighter aircraft. It is the naval specification of the F/A-20 Dragon II. It was an excellent aircraft that was good at missions like air-to-air, bombing, and so on.

Caption: ES-11 Cat's Eye
An airborne early warning aircraft. At the time, the ES-11D, which had the ability to operate in outer space added to it, was deployed only to the Macross itself.

Caption: Sea Sergeant
An anti-submersible patrol helicopter. Besides combat, it was used for multiple purposes, such as angel flights, combat rescue, and the transport of personnel and materials.

Caption: QF-3000E Ghost
An unmanned combat air vehicle that uses the FF-1999 Thermonuclear Turbine Engine. It is catapulted from a dedicated catapult launcher.

Before And After The VF-1

Pg. 117

Captions:
1: The F-14X, which was used as an OTM verification aircraft for the VF-1, played an active role up to the final stage of the end of the Unification War in 2008. The real aircraft cannot be seen now due to the First Interstellar War, which caused the Earth to suffer devastating damage.
2: Even though the F-14 and VF-1 are said to have silhouettes that are very similar, there is a difference in the such things as the presence or absence of the horizontal stabilizers. Also, the F-14 has a size that's about two sizes larger. In addition, there is information where aircraft that could load armaments under the wings on the F-14X -which was an OTM improved aircraft- were also examined.
3: The VF-4G Lightning III that were deployed to the Alaska Elmendorf Base conducting their maiden flight. The picture was taken from the rear seat of a VF-1D that was flying in parallel. The biggest difference between the VF-4 and VF-1 is that the VF-4 specializes in combat in outer space. Although its manoeuvrability in the atmosphere can be said to be at the same level as the VF-1, it demonstrated favourable manoeuvrability at high altitude.
4: Even though the early models of the VF-4 were already operating at this base, where there was a comprehensive training institute for within atmosphere flight skills, the G model, which was newly deployed this time, had the mechanism to transform to GERWALK and Battroid.
