Sector Tertiary Colony
Mostly "have-nots" with a few "haves"; who wanted to become petty dictators of their own when they left Caesar. The haves established separate countries on the colony, and almost immediately started disputes with each other. Over time, the disputes have grown into near constant border skirmishes where each country tries to maintain its borders while trying to take land from their neighbours.
In the recent past, the have-nots eventually overthrew their petty dictators in a couple countries. They are currently locked in battles with their neighbours who are still governed by dictatorship. The surviving dictators are trying to take advantage of the current instability and grab even more territory from all of their neighbours.
The colony keeps to itself as it's too busy dealing with its domestic problems. Other colonies in the sector don't interfere, as De Moins's internal conflicts have spawned a highly profitable armaments industry in the sector with the supply of mostly infantry and infantry support materials to the various countries of De Moins.
How to do the conflict:
Each country has its own territory on the planet. They don't really invade each other, but when they're out in the open, in neutral land and the country side, they'll just start fighting each other.
Education: see country descriptions.
Economy: in general, the economies of De Moins are based on the farming of insects in large herds and mining for fold quartz and other materials. With the other colonies in the sector, they are exporters of food stuffs (variety of flora, protein-rich meat substitutes made from native insects), and the occasional (small) fold quartz crystal. The sales of the crystals enables the more ruthless petty dictators of De Moins to fund the means to maintain their grip on power - usually mercenaries, but occasionally also privateers and PMC. These fold crystals are sometimes referred to as Conflict Quartz (also called Blood Quartz, Hot Quartz, or War Quartz) by others in the sector, and there are movements in some colonies to prevent their sale.
Government: various. See country descriptions. The primary colony-wide organization is ESCALUS (effectively the same as ASEAN) - used to provide a unified front for external diplomacy when needed. It is located in the Colony Defence Force's military base Paris.
Ambassador: Shylock: under investigation
The main political leader(s): varies. See country descriptions.
The CDF military base is Paris.
Top military leader: varies. See country descriptions.
Ship most likely to be deployed in an emergency: Mercutio (a "battleship"). John, Laurence - two (2) transport ships used for trade of foodstuffs with the other colonies in the sector (trade made under the aegis of ESCALUS) [note: generally the transports and battleship are under the command of the country that is the strongest - thereby ensuring that that country is protected first!]
How Perceived Others: the bulk of the population are generally envious of the higher living standards of the other residents of the sector. The petty dictators generally look-down on others as their standard of living is quite high, and they are generally drunk on power.
How Perceived By Others: the petty dictators are seen as selfish juveniles who easily part with their money. The general populace are pitied, but no one feels particularly motivated to help them. The have-nots who have liberated themselves are seen as freedom fighters, fighting a just and decent fight. But little more than moral support tends to be sent their way as they're not financially well off.

Anthony
Highly militarized. Producer of arms and armaments that they sell to their neighbours - when not attacking them and taking their territory! Chronically short on food, and have developed a relationship with Jules where they trade low-level armaments for food. The dictator Antonio resents this, and burns for the day when Anthony can conquer enough food producing lands to be able to risk taking Jules by force! Culture: highly militarized. Education: elites are highly trained in either the arts of war, or the arts of manufacturing materials for war. Economy: heavily industrialized and mining based. Mine metals, chemical and coals to produce armaments. Exporter of low-grade Conflict Quartz to help pay for the purchase of armaments and red meat they cannot produce at home. Producer of low-grade cyber-grunts. Government: dictatorship Ambassador to ESCALUS: Lorenzo: under investigation The main political leader(s): Magnifico Antonio: under investigation Military: well balanced (air, ground and water), sizeable armed force. A large part of the military is composed of cyber-grunts (full or partial conversions), giving Anthony a distinct advantage against its equivallently sized neighbours. The military is also able to hold it's own against the larger neighbours, such as Capulet and Verona. Top military leader: Magnifico Antonio: under investigation Settlements
Apothecary Culture: tend to wear long flowing medival robes. Among the elite, the continuous study of medicine is encouraged. The elite are some of the most medically fit in the sector. On the other hand, the have-nots live a rather poor existance, working the mines, ranches and factories producing the medicines that are invariably sold off to the neighbouring contries. Sadly, they rarely benefit from the medicine they produce. Education: relatively high. Specializing in medicines and their creation. Economy: manufacturers medicines (herbal, chemical and derived from insects (some even say that they've genetically modified insects to produce specific medicines...) Government: benevolent dictatorship Ambassador to ESCALUS: Leonardo: under investigation The main political leader(s): Prince Gallipot: under investigation Military: mostly ground based and defence in orientation. It's not particularly large, as the country is relatively content with the position of its borders, and the other countries rely too much on it's medicines to risk attacking the country and taking its territory. Mantua
Despite being a dictatorship that ruthlessly exploits the have-nots within its borders, the haves prefer not to "get their hands dirty" with managing the have-nots and labour in general. This has created a middle class that acts as the managers for the haves. The middle class are unsatisfied with their place in society, and are waiting for an opportunity to remove the haves from power... and take it for themselves! However, Ferrante Gonzaga, a haves, is quite unlike his peers and is very interested in the nuts and bolts of the country. He is aware of what the middle class is up to, but isn't stopping it, as he perceives them as a means to take control of the country. He just has to figure out how he can take control of them. Culture: lovers of art, music, and especially opera. Education: heavily focuses on the sciences and arts Economy: primarily farmers and exporters of Blood Quartz. Oddly, they are prized exporters of high-culture (art, music, opera) to the sector. Government: dictatorship Ambassador to ESCALUS: Gianfrancesco: under investigation The main political leader(s): Marquis Charles Gonzaga: under investigation Military: mostly ground based infantry, with quite a few cyber-grunts (partial and full conversion, paid for by Blood Quartz), and supported by a few VA-3M squadrons. Romero Have-nots are generally worked too hard and not given enough compensation (rest, food, pay) for their labours. The number of discontent increases daily, so do protest. The government's days are numbered as a large revolt looms on the horizon. Culture: the elites are prone to wild feasting and drinking excessively. Have-nots generally have a miserable existance. Education: comparitively low. Economy: major exporter of insect meat and wines. Government: autocratic Ambassador to ESCALUS: Bassanio: under investigation The main political leader(s): Duke Augustus Romero: under investigation Military: primarily ground based. Comparitively large but low powered, as it is also employed in policing the state and repressing the have-not protestors. Top military leader: Portia: under investigation Settlements
