BACKGROUND
This standard Armored Personnel Carrier could be found aboard most U.N. Forces capital spacecraft during Space War I. Used to transport infantry onto and off of the battlefield, these armored fighting vehicles have only a single heavy machine gun and are only lightly armored. The hull provides protection from small arms fire and shell splinters. The hull and frontal area are specially reinforced to protect the engine and personnel.
The standard U.N. APC can carry a sizable force of soldiers inside the small interior and the six wheels provide the vehicle with superior speed and traction in difficult terrain. The Armoured Vehicle is fully amphibious, being propelled in the water by steerable propellers at the rear of the hull. An oxygen/air circulatory and purge system enables all hatches to be sealed airtight for up to 3 hours.

SDC BY LOCATION:
Optional tank armour rule: When another tank (or similar or lesser weapon) fires horizontally at the Armoured Vehicle, it has an AR of 12. The same weapon fired at a 45 degree angle gives the Armoured Vehicle an AR of 9. From directly overhead, the Armoured Vehicle has an AR of 6. The shell will ricochet off of the tank's armour if the roll to strike is below the AR. AR applies only to shell and bullet attacks.

1a. 12.7 MACHINE GUN
A single 12.7 mm machinegun is mounted on one of the top turrets. This weapon can be operated manually or by remote control. Somebody other than the pilot must operate the gun. It has a 360 degree rotation with an 180 degree arc up and down.
- PRIMARY PURPOSE: Anti-Personnel
- RANGE: 8,000 m
- DAMAGE: 7D6 S.D.C. per round. 5 round burst, single target - 2D8X10 SDC. 10 round burst, single target - 1D4X100 SDC (1D4 MDC). For bursts greater than 25 rounds, increase the damage by a scale of 2D4X100 SDC (2D4 MDC) per 10 rounds (it is recommended to stick to multiples of 10 when firing for ease of damage resolution) OR refer to the modern weapons rules for machineguns.
The gun pod can be used for sprays: 5 round spray - 1D4x10 SDC per target, effects 1D4 targets. 10 round burst spray - 1D4x10 SDC per target, effects 2D4 targets with a 50% chance of hitting bystanders. Longer duration sprays (up to limits of the magazine): 2D4x10 SDC per target, effects 4D4 targets. Chance of hitting bystanders is 70%.
- RATE OF FIRE: Equal to the pilot's combined number of attacks. The machinegun isn't limited to bursts of 5, 10, 25 or 1,000 rounds.
- PAYLOAD: 1,000 rounds. 10 extra boxes of ammo are carried inside the tank. Reloading takes 1 action of an extra box is readily available.
1b. 14.5 MACHINE GUN
The 12.7mm machinegun can be replaced with a 14.5 mm machinegun. The weapon uses special armour piercing rounds and is only mounted when mecha combat is expected.
- PRIMARY PURPOSE: Anti-Personnel
- RANGE: 1,000 m
- DAMAGE: 1D6x10 S.D.C. per round. 5 round burst, single target - 4D6X10 SDC. 10 round burst, single target - 1D6X100 SDC (1D4 MDC). For bursts greater than 25 rounds, increase the damage by a scale of 2D6X100 SDC (2D4 MDC) per 10 rounds (it is recommended to stick to multiples of 10 when firing for ease of damage resolution) OR refer to the modern weapons rules for machineguns.
The gun pod can be used for sprays: 5 round spray - 1D6x10 SDC per target, effects 1D4 targets. 10 round burst spray - 1D6x10 SDC per target, effects 2D4 targets with a 50% chance of hitting bystanders. Longer duration sprays (up to limits of the magazine): 2D6x10 SDC per target, effects 4D4 targets.
2. FOUR BARRELLED SMOKE GRENADE LAUNCHER
Mounted externally on the turret is a six barrelled grenade launcher, for laying down smoke to permit the Tank to provide cover for troops, or so as to evade hostile forces.
- PRIMARY PURPOSE: evasion
- RANGE: 50 m
- RATE OF FIRE: Equal to the pilot's combined number of attacks.
- PAYLOAD: 4 smoke grenades already loaded, with an additional rounds carried within the Vehicle.
STANDARD EQUIPMENT FOR THE ARMOURED FIGHTING VEHICLE
- CAMOUFLAGE WEBBING: Carried on the exterior of the Tank is camouflage webbing sufficient to cover the entire vehicle.
- COMBAT COMPUTER: The Armoured Fighting Vehicle is equipped with a combat computer that can store and analyze data during combat with hostile forces. Data readouts and stats can be displayed either in the gunner's targeting sight or the driver's main screens; the latter can also be used to display video images. The combat computer tracks and identifies specific enemy targets, and has a database of over 250 images stored in memory.
- EXTERNAL AUDIO PICKUP: A sound amplification system that can pick up normal conversation up to 75 m away.
- HEAT AND RADIATION SHIELDS: Special shielding prevents the penetration of life threatening heat and radiation. A radiation detection and alarm system are linked with the shields and will sound an alarm if there is a rupture in the shields and what the levels of radiation are.
- LASER TARGETING SYSTEM: Range: 5 Km. It is not possible to use this system for laser communication.
- LOUDSPEAKER: A loudspeaker system is built into the craft, which can be used to amplify the pilot's voice up to 90 decibels.
- NBC LIFE SUPPORT SYSTEM: The Tank is sealed against Nuclear, Biological and Chemical attacks and able to sustain crew and passengers and remain fully operational for up to 48 hours.
- OPTICS: INFRARED/NIGHTVISION: Range: 610m. Thermal Imaging System (TIS) has magnification x20 narrow field of view and x5 wide field of view. The thermal image is displayed in the eyepiece of the gunner's sight together with the range measurement from a laser rangefinder.
- OPTICS: OPTICAL SIGHTS/PERISCOPES: The commander's station is equipped with six periscopes, providing 360 degree view. The Raytheon Commander's Independent Thermal Viewer (CITV) provides the commander with independent stabilised day and night vision with a 360 degree view, automatic sector scanning, automatic target cueing of the gunner's sight and back-up fire control.
- RADIO/VIDEO COMMUNICATION: Long range, directional, line-of-sight communications system with satellite relay capabilities. Range: 1,000 Km or can be boosted indefinitely via satellite relay.
- SEARCHLIGHTS: one searchlight is located on the front, next to the commander's hatch and the other is on the turret hatch. Range: 92.5 m.
- STANDARD SURVIVAL KIT: All UN Spacy vehicles come equipped with a portable survival kit. Inside the small reinforced box is a medium-sized flashlight, two hand flares, one rocket flare, a compass, infrared distancing binoculars, a small mirror, a pocket knife, dehydrated and concentrated food (can be stretched into a five day supply for one person) and basic first aid items (aspirin, bandages, disinfectants, etc.).
- UNIVERSAL DIRECTION FINDER SYSTEM: The Tank is fitted with a Universal Direction Finder Navigation system for navigation and location mapping.
COMBAT BONUSES FOR ARMOUR FIGHTING VEHICLE TRAINING
None, though the laser targeting system provides a +2 to strike.
