United Nations Air Force/Space Air Force Airman OCC |
---|
The Airman of the UN Air Force and their space based counterparts of the UN Space Air Force are the men and women who keep the various Variable Fighter bases and Variable Fighter's operational. Although it is the Mecha Engineers that keep the actual Variable Fighters and Destroids in an operational state it is the UNAF/UNSAF Airman who operate the Sensor/Communications Consoles, direct the Fighters and man the ground based defenses. An UNAF/UNSAF Airman can start their basic training at the age of 15, however most start it after they have finished School at 18. Airmen undergo 6 months of basic training giving them a starting age range of 15.5-18.5

Sensor Operator (3 months MOS training)
The Sensor Operator oversee's the operation of sensors and weapons which protect the UN Air Force from a variety of threats using computer controlled gun & missile emplacements. They track the numerous military and civilian aircraft & spacecreaft in a planets atmosphere and out to orbit as well. Should it be necessary they are trained in Electronic Warfare measures as well, jamming enemy communications and radar to gain the upperhand over them.

Communications Operator (6 months MOS training)
Communications Operators work with a wide variety of modern equipment including satellite communications to provide continuous world-wide communications between the Air Force Base, aircraft both civilian and military, spacecraft in orbit and UN Headquarters on Earth. Training icludes how to receive and analyse radio communications, read morse code accurately at high speeds and operate sophisticated receiving, recording, direction-finding and analysis equipment, including Hyperspace Communications devices. Their teams maintain the working efficiency of the UNAF/UNSAF through proper communication

Engineering Artificer (4 years training)
If equipment breaks down on an Air Force base it is the responsibility of the Engineering Artificer to get it fixed. Artificer work on every kind of technology - from the automated defences of the base to powersupply, sensor equipment and computers. This Engineer is NOT a Mecha Mechanic.

Air Engineering Artificer (4 years training)
The UN Air Force run's not only Variable Fighters, but regular aircraft and Helicopters as well which the Air Engineering Officers and their Mechanics maintain and repair. The work covers all aspects of repair on non-transformable aircraft and helicopters from airframes to engines, hydraulics to flying controls, and fuel systems to radio equipment, weapons and electrical systems. The Air Engineering Artificer is NOT a Mecha Mechanic.
