The Officers of the UN Air Force and their space based counterparts of the UN Space Air Force are the men and women who keep the various Variable Fighter bases and Variable Fighter's operational. Although it is the Mecha Engineers that keep the actual Variable Fighters and Destroids in an operational state it is the UNAF/UNSAF Officers who guide and lead the Airmen who operate the Sensor/Communications Consoles, direct the Fighters and man the ground based defenses. An UNAF/UNSAF Officer can start their basic training at the age of 18, however most start it after they have finished University at 21. Officers undergo 2 years of training giving them a starting age range of 20-23.

Sensor Officer (3 months MOS training)
The Sensor Officer oversee's the operation of sensors and weapons which protect the UN Air Force from a variety of threats using computer controlled gun & missile emplacements. They track the numerous military and civilian aircraft & spacecreaft in a planets atmosphere and out to orbit as well. Should it be necessary they are trained in Electronic Warfare measures as well, jamming enemy communications and radar to gain the upperhand over them.

Communications Officer (6 months MOS training)
Communications Officers work with a wide variety of modern equipment including satellite communications to provide continuous world-wide communications between the Air Force Base, aircraft both civilian and military, spacecraft in orbit and UN Headquarters on Earth. Training icludes how to receive and analyse radio communications, read morse code accurately at high speeds and operate sophisticated receiving, recording, direction-finding and analysis equipment, including Hyperspace Communications devices. Their teams maintain the working efficiency of the UNAF/UNSAF through proper communication

Engineering Officer(Artificer) (4 years training)
If equipment breaks down on an Air Force base it is the responsibility of the Engineering Officer (Artificer) - and his/her team of people to get it fixed. Artificer Officers work on every kind of technology - from the automated defences of the base to powersupply, sensor equipment and computers. This Engineer is NOT a Mecha Mechanic.

Air Engineering Officer (4 years training)
The UN Air Force run's not only Variable Fighters, but regular aircraft and Helicopters as well which the Air Engineering Officers and their Mechanics maintain and repair. The work covers all aspects of repair on non-transformable aircraft and helicopters from airframes to engines, hydraulics to flying controls, and fuel systems to radio equipment, weapons and electrical systems. This Air Engineering Officer is NOT a Mecha Mechanic.

Tower/Ground Flight Control Officers (15 weeks MOS training)
The Tower/Ground Flight Control Officers oversee's the co-ordination of military aircraft. The Tower Controllers co-ordinate aircraft both in and out of combat in the air, whilst the Ground Flight Controller's ensure the safe and efficient running of flying operations and ensure that the aircraft are correctly directed, positioned and secured once in their hangers.

Mechanical Transport(Officer) (3 months Driver training)
Transport around base is as important as the aircraft they maintain and service. Truck and jeep drivers are needed to transport equipment and personnel around the Air Base and off Base as well on occasion, and the MT Officer leads this team of Drivers and Mechanics.

Intelligence Officer (6 months MOS training)
Intelligence is always essential in the Air Force and analytical mind's are needed to glean pertinent information from the data presented to them. UNAF Intelligence Officers are seldom seen in the field unless they are aboard an AWAC or EWAC (Early Warning/Electronic Warfare Air Craft,) aircraft. It is Intelligence personnel who question prisoners.

Administration/Computer Officers (10 weeks MOS training)
Not everyone is a pilot in the Air Force and many personnel fly desks maintaining the administrative side seldom seen of the UNAF. A few of these how-ever specialise in Computer Espionage for the Air Force gathering information for the intelligene Department.

UN Air Force Security (6 weeks MOS training)
The Security of UN Air Force Bases is not left solely to the Marine's alone as they only a small contingent at any base. The numerous UNAF Security personnel can also double as Military Police ensuring that Air Force personnel on leave don't cause any trouble, or arresting and picking up any Airmen that do cause trouble.

Pilot (3 years MOS training)
The Air Force requires not only Variable Fighter pilots but pilots for a variety of fixed wing, rotary and shuttle craft. The UNAF/UNSAF pilot fulfils all of these roles in one.

Wages, Rank & Experience
UNAF/UNSAF Officers starting wage is 2000 credits per month, with a starting rank of 2nd Lieutenant/Ensign. The Officer uses the UN Soldier Experience Table for Experience Levels.
