Step 2: determine the length of training

Select one (1) of the following:

Officers (player characters)

  • Training length: 24 months
  • Additional training: spend 1 more Skill Program to get 6 more months of MOS training.
  • Age: add the 2 years* of military training to the education level.
  • * If a character has High Level/University education, only 1 year of military training is added.

    Enlisted (NPCs)

  • Training length: 1D10+2 months* in the Unified Forces.
  • Additional training: spend 1 more Skill Program to get 6 more months of MOS training
  • Age: add the 1 year of military training to the education level.
  • * Training periods as short as 3 or 4 months are possible. 1.5 months in extreme circumstances, but the result is destined to be an infantry rifleman only, with only the branch training, and no MOS training.


    High School Education Military Opportunity

    Only for characters and NPCs with the High School Graduate education level.

    Whether it be a scholarship, someone you know, plain old luck, or something else, your character gained access to better military training than ordinarily available to high school drop-outs.

  • Training length: Roll 1D6:
  • 1-2 = 2 years training.
    3-4 = 2 years training. +1D10% on military skills.
    5 = 3 years training.
    6 = 3 years training. +1D10% on military skills.
  • Additional training: N/A.
  • Age: add the 2 or 3 years of military training to the education level.
  • Zentrādi Characters

    Non-humanized Zentrādi only. Humanized Zentrādi (those who have been acclimatized to, or brought up in Earth's culture) use either Officers or Enlisted above.

  • Training length: soldiers: 1D10+2 months; officers: 24 months.
  • Additional training: N/A.
  • Age: add the 1 or 2 years of military training to the education level.

    Note: training time up to 2 months beyond the training length from Step 2 is permissible (GM's discretion).

    Example: my officer character has 24 months training length. I choose Pilot: Variable Fighter (18 months), Space Forces (3 months), and Security (3 months): 18 + 3 + 3 = 24 months.
