Sound Energy Conversion System
In "Project M", not only VF's that supported the project, but related equipment were also newly developed. Even though such things as the Song Energy Conversion Unit—which is a Dr. Chiba Sound Energy System that converted Song Energy into a physical effect—is representative of that equipment, Song Energy that far exceeded that of any ordinary person was needed to operate them.
The Sound Energy Conversion System is equipment for humans that converts Song Energy into such things as light and space-time resonance energy. Due to its development, the cockpits of VFs were also remodelled to types that supported to this equipment.
The Sound Energy system is a system that converts Song Energy into such things as light and power that shakes space-time. It was developed through the efforts of Dr. Chiba, the proponent of the "Sound Energy Theory". The device appropriates a Super-dimensional Converter—the core of a Fold System. Even though the Sound Energy System cannot operate if it isn't used by someone who has more than a fixed level of Song Energy, when it comes to people who have Song Energy to the extent of Nekki Basara and Mylene Jīnasu, even fourth dimensional phenomenon can be influenced and caused by the higher dimensional energy the system produces. In addition, with equipment such as the Sound Booster, it is possible to double the Sound Energy System's power.
- Primary Purpose: Sound Energy Conversion / Spiritia Warfare
- Activation Cost (amount of Spiritia required to activate the unit): 10 Spiritia Points
- Damage: see the Spiritia RPG rules
- Special Effect: when activated give the user(s) 10-to-1 Song Energy/Spiritia point ratio and the ability to use minor Spiritia powers.

Spiritia Absorbing Beam Gunpod
The Macross 7 Fleet implemented Spiritia absorbing Beam Gun Pods. They were used in the final phases of the Varōta Campaign.
Very few Spiritia Absorbing Beam Gunpods exist among the Macross 7 Fleet. This weapon seems to be the only effective way of combating the Protodevlin besides Spritia Warfare.
- Primary Purpose: Anti-Protodevilun combat
- Range: 365 m
- Activation Cost (amount of Spiritia required to activate the unit): none, as this is a machine and does not require Spiritia to activate.
- Rate of Fire: 5 blasts or 1 continuous beam (full melee)
- Damage: single blast: 1D4x10 Spritia/MDC loss, Full melee Blast: 1D4x100 Spritia/MDC loss. Note this is damage only applicable to Protodevilun.
- Spiritia Capacity: 500 Spiritia Points. Once the gun has reached its maximum Spiritia capacity, it must tansfer its contents to a larger spiritia container.
- Penalties: -10 to hit a humanoid size target (E.g. Minor Protodevilun).

Spiritia Warfare Guitar Gun (fanfic)
Designed exclusively for Spiritia warfare. Has a built-in amp, and both a 10 mm rifle and a 55 mm speaker pod launcher. The musical weapon can be plugged into specially designed SES booster units that can be mounted on some of the newer Unified Forces Power Armour suits.
There are optional mounting points for attachments such as a penlight, and so on.
Note: this weapon was developted for use by characters in Power Armour. Due to its weight and bulk, characters who use it without power armour assistance are -3 to strike. They are -1 strike when bracing it on something.
1. High-Performance Speaker System
They emit up to 200 decibels of sound. The speakers are normally used to project music during combat. They can be set to play any recording the pilot has loaded into the craft's computer, or whatever music the pilot produces while piloting the craft.
- Range: 200 m in atmosphere. Touch in the void of space.
- Damage: temporary deafness
- Special: the loud music is very distracting; pilots forced to listen to it in combat suffer -2 to initiative and combat rolls. In addition, the music may cause a Spiritia reaction in the minds of brainwashed Varōta pilots.
NOTE: this not a Sound Energy System (SES), this is just a normal speaker unit.
2. 10 mm caseless Rifle
- Range: 1,000 m
- Damage: 1D12X10 SDC per round. 1D6X100 SDC (1D6 MDC) per 5 round burst. Refer to the Gun Pods and Beam Machine Gun Burst and Spray Rules for alternatives.
- Rate of Fire: equal to the pilot's combined number of attacks. Semi-automatic / Burst (5 rounds) / Full Automatic.
- Payload: 100 rounds. Additional ammo clips can be inserted, but exchanging clips takes 2 actions to reload. Generally one (1) spare clip is carried on the Power Armour.
3. 55 mm caseless Speaker Pod Launcher
The speaker pod launcher can fire speaker pods, grenades, or gas and electro-shock shells. However, using these optional munitions goes against the intent of the weapon: defeating an opponent through non-lethal means.
- Range: 600 m
- Damage: varies, see below
- Rate of Fire: equal to the pilot's combined number of attacks. Semi-automatic only.
- Payload: 15 rounds. Additional ammo clips can be inserted, but exchanging clips takes 2 actions to reload. Generally two (2) spare clips are carried on the Power Armour.
Speaker Pods
The launcher is used to fire Speaker Pods into opponent's vehicles in order to broadcast the pilot's music. After penetrating the target's armor, the Speaker Pods are fixed with a stopper and filler. The shells are armor piercing and can usually penetrate even the toughest armor. In addition to their use as a distraction, the speaker pods have been known to occasionally free Varōta pilots from their brainwashing, permitting them to defect back to the Unified Forces.
NOTE: This not a Sound Energy System (SES), this is just a normal speaker unit.
- Primary Purpose: Spiritia Warfare / distraction
- Damage: a speaker pod does 1D4X100 SDC (1D4 MDC) on impact from armor penetration. ONLY used against armour. If it hits an unarmoured target, it acts just like a regular bullet; most likely tearing off a limb in the process.
- Special Effects: the loud music played by the speaker pods is very distracting. Pilots forced to listen to it in combat suffer a -2 penalty to their iniative rolls, and a -1 to strike and dodge.
Grenades
Explode on impact. They flood an area with metal fragments that can rip those affected to shreds.
- Primary Purpose: anti-personnel
- Damage: 1D4x100 SDC (1D4 MDC) to 15 m.
Gas Shells
Various types of gas are available, such as smoke, tear gas, and knockout gas. The Unified Government doesn't condone the use of nerve gas, biological or chemical weapons, however they are avaiable for black ops missions. For Power Armour, the standard shell used is smoke.
- Primary Purpose: concealment / crowd control
- Damage: damage depends on the type of gas used. The shell creates a large cloud of gas to a 6 m radius.
Electro-shock Shells
A stun-gun for power armour—the shells are designed to discharge a large electromagnetic charge upon contact. The electromagnetic charge fries the sensitive electronics inside of power armour. No effect against unarmoured opponents. Minimal effects against armour greater than that of a Power Armour.
- Primary Purpose: non-lethal incapacitation
- Damage: 1D4x100 SDC (1D4 MDC) from initial impact, and roll on the following table:
Note: add +10% (or more) to the roll if the Power Armour is protected against electromagnetism. Subtract -10% to the roll if fired into a bullet hole (called shot at -7 to strike.)
01-35: vehicle immediately ceases operation and collapses (or falls) to the ground.
(GM's option: power armour is disabled, but pilot inside can still attempt to move. Normal hand-to-hand combat bonuses only at -2 strike and parry, -5 to dodge, -3 roll, -5 SPD and -35% on piloting skill checks. Flight and leaps are impossible.)
36-65: electromagnetic charge in the avionics: -1 initiative, -2 strike, parry and dodge, and -10% on piloting rolls. Shutting down the vehicle and restarting it will negate the effects.
66-95: static charge in the avionics: -1 initiative, -2 strike, parry and dodge, and -10% on piloting rolls. Effects last for 1D4 melees until the charge dissipates.
96-00: no effect

Varōta Sound Defence System
Sound protective gear, designed by Gavil, for the Minor Protodeviln as well as the Major Protodeviln. It was designed to protect the Protodeviln from the 'noise' of Anima Spiritia, However, while this unit can protect against noise, it cannot protect against the effects of Anima Spiritia.
Gabiru's is a head-mounted Sound Defence System invented by Gabiru to nullify the songs of Sound Force. Gurabiru's is also a head-mounted Sound Defence System. However, unlike Gabiru's, it has a partial transformation mechanism.
- Audio Defense System MDC
- • Major Protodeviln version: 400 MDC
- • Minor Protodeviln version: 5 SDC
- Range: 1,500 m
- Time to Use: instantaneous
- Duration: continous. The Audio Defense System is designed to protect the Protodeviln from 'sound' attacks. Therefore, it negates all penalties from such devices as long as the Protodeviln wears the head gear or until the MDC of the headgear is depleted—usually by some form of Anima Spiritia attack, as conventional weapons fail to break the Protodeviln's barrier shield.
- Saving Throw: none
- Activation Cost (amount of Spiritia required to activate the unit): none, as this is a machine and does not require Spiritia to activate.

Varōta Spiritia Imager/Absorption Beam
The portable Spiritia Imager is worn by the Varōta Infiltrators. This visor detects Spiritia and its level of 'purity'. Mounted on the chin-piece is a Spiritia Absorption Beam, used to collect Spiritia for their Protodeviln masters. This is a smaller version of the Spiritia Absorption Beam that is mounted on all of the Varōta Variable Vehicles.
1. Spiritia Imager
- Primary Purpose: detecting Spiritia
- Range: 8 m
2. Spiritia Absorption Beam
Setting 1: Spiritia Collection
- Primary Purpose: gathering Spiritia
- Range: 8 m
- Activation Cost (amount of Spiritia required to activate the unit): none, but takes 1 melee action.
- Damage: none unless the beam strikes the brain. If successful, the beam drains 1D6 M.E. per round until the target reaches 0 M.E. At this point, the victim falls into a coma until his spiritia regenerates. Refer to Spiritia RPG rules for recovering Spiritia.
- Rate of Fire: once per melee round.
- Penalties: the beam has a -10 penalty to hit the brain of a MOVING target, such as a flying mecha or a running human. There is no penalty to hit a non-moving target.
- Payload: unlimited.
- Spiritia Capacity: 25 Spiritia Points. The portable Spiritia Absorption Beam is only capable of storing a certain amount of Spiritia. Once it is full, it must empty its Spiritia into some kind of Spiritia Collector before it can be used again.
Setting 2: Incapacitate / Stun
- Primary Purpose: stunning victims
- Range: 8 m
- Activation Cost (amount of Spiritia required to activate the unit): none, but takes 1 melee action.
- Damage: none, but the attacker must hit the target in head just like above to be successful. Stuns 1D4 hours.
- Rate of Fire: once per melee round.
- Penalties: the beam has a -10 penalty to hit the brain of a MOVING target, such as a flying mecha or a running human. There is no penalty to hit a non-moving target.
- Payload: unlimited.

Varōta Spiritia Absorber (briefcase type)
The Varōta Vampires also carry a briefcase-style Spiritia Absorber. This absorber is connected to the absorption port on the Vampire's mask by cable and has the functions of either storing or releasing the absorbed Spiritia.
- Primary Purpose: gathering Spiritia
- Activation Cost (amount of Spiritia required to activate the unit): none, as this is a machine and does not require Spiritia to activate.
- Spiritia Capacity: 50 Spiritia Points. The portable Spiritia Absorber is only capable of storing a certain amount of Spiritia. Once it is full it must empty its Spiritia into a larger Spiritia Collector, such as the Spiritia Storing and Releasing Backpack.
▲ Top ▶ Rules (game [über-Simple], equipment & Spiritia rules)
Varōta Spiritia Storing and Releasing Backpack
A large, backpack-type of Spiritia Absorber. It can store large amounts of Spiritia, which can then be released in large amounts to the Protodevilun. Gigiru used one of these units to release a large amount of stored Spiritia—that he had accumilated from the previous battles with the Macross 7 fleet—to release/awaken the Protodevilun Sybil.
- Primary Purpose: gathering Spiritia
- Activation Cost (amount of Spiritia required to activate the unit): none, as this is a machine and does not require Spiritia to activate.
- Spiritia Capacity: 1,500 Spiritia Points.
