Under investigation: the following is a placeholder while the stats are being developed
VF-17T S.E.S. SOUND BOOSTER
Background
Sound Energy System designed and developed by Dr. Chiba. The sound boosters contain Dr. Chiba's revolutionary sound energy sytem (SES) that amplifies and projects Spiritia Energy, allowing the pilot to use his spiritia powers in combat. These boosters were designed specifically for Sound Force after it became an operational unit. They are launched from a special catapult onboard Macross 7. The controler uses an onboard guidance system to launch and deliver the booster unit to the appropriate destination to be linked up with the users Valkyrie, from there the Valkyrie Pilot has full control of the unit. BACKGROUND
An optional Sound Booster Unit for the VF-11MAXL Kai. It has hybrid sensors, two sound energy converters and two sound aura amplification systems, and can be mated with the VF-11MAXL Kai to enhance it's Spiritia Warfare capabilities. The Sound Booster Unit launches seperate from the VF-11MAXL Kai. It then flies under it's own power to the VF-11MAXL Kai and docks onto the rear of the battroid. When activated, the wing tops open, revealing speakers and SES equipment, which swivel 180 degrees toward the front.
The Sound Booster No.2 craft has the same engine as the mass-produced VF-19, giving it a maximum speed and maneuverability greater than the other 2 Sound Booster craft. It also has the mounting hardpoints and navigation software to use a fold booster. In addition to the onboard AI, the craft can be remote controlled. The craft has no fixed armaments, however the plans of the craft was transmitted to other emigration fleets and planets, and there were a few combat versions created for testing as an alternative to the QF-4000 Ghost series.
The Sound Boosters were designed specifically for Sound Force after it became an operational unit. They are launched from a special catapult onboard Macross 7. The controller uses an onboard guidance system to launch and deliver the booster unit to the appropriate destination to be linked up with the users Valkyrie, from there the Valkyrie Pilot has full control of the unit. Specifically designed for Mylene's VF-11 MAXL Valkyrie. .

DEFENSIVE SYSTEMS
Note: Refer to the
VF-19 Excalibur for stats unless otherwise noted herein:
1. 3RD GENERATION ACTIVE STEALTH SYSTEM
2. INTERNAL MULTIPURPOSE CHAFF/FLARE DISCHARGER SYSTEM
3. HEAT AND RADIATION SHIELDS
4. SELF-DESTRUCT
5. SWAG ENERGY CONVERSION SYSTEM (SWAG/RA155)
OFFENSIVE SYSTEMS
In the original configuration,
the Sound Booster No. 2 craft has no fixed armaments. However, versions exist with fixed armaments - detailed after the stats for the original configuration.
1. HIGH-PERFORMANCE AUDIO SYSTEM: (1)
It is used in conjunction with the Sound Energy Converters, Sound Aura Amplification System and Light Projector System. The system is capable of distracting and, especially with the light projector system, temporarily dazzling the enemy.
High-Performance Speaker System
Built into the Sound Warfare assemblies. They emit up to 400 decibels of sound. They are normally used to project music during combat, but can be set to play any recording the pilot has loaded into the craft's computer, or whatever music the pilot produces while piloting the craft.
- PRIMARY PURPOSE: sound warfare
- RANGE: 750 m in atmosphere. Touch in the void of space.
- DAMAGE: temporary deafness.
- SPECIAL: The loud music is very distracting—pilots forced to listen to it in combat suffer -2 to initiative and -1 to strike and dodge. In addition, the music may cause a Spiritia reaction in the minds of brainwashed Varōta pilots.
- RATE OF FIRE: active as long as the pilot is playing or producing music.
- PAYLOAD: effectively unlimited.
Holographic Light Projector System
Built into the Sound Warfare assemblies, next to the Speaker System. They emit a bright light projection, that can be used for rock shows, signaling, and blinding attacks. They are capable of projecting whatever image the pilot wants, if it is in the vehicles computer. They are not powerful enough to "cloak" the Sound Booster nor VF-11MAXL Kai to hide it from view.
- PRIMARY PURPOSE: distraction
- SECONDARY PURPOSE: blinding attacks
- RANGE: 1,200 m
- DAMAGE: temporary blindness: on a successful strike, the opponent rolls to save vs blindness. If they fail, they are blinded for 1 round, and are -3 on initiative and combat rolls while blinded.
- RATE OF FIRE: equal to the pilot's combined number of attacks. Single shots only to attempt to blind an opponent (requires a weapons system check.)
- PAYLOAD: effectively Unlimited.
2. SOUND ENERGY CONVERTERS and SOUND AURA AMPLIFICATION SYSTEM: (2+2)
A system built into the Sound Booster that amplifies the VF-11MAXL Kai's pilot's spiritia for attack and defence uses. It is used in conjunction with the High Performance Audio System. The systems are only useable when the Sound Booster is physically attached to the VF-11MAXL Kai and the pilot is producing Spiritia sound energy.
The Sound Energy System (SES) was designed and developed by Dr. Chiba. The Sound Boosters contain Dr. Chiba's revolutionary SES, which amplifies and projects Spiritia Energy, allowing the pilot to use their Spiritia powers in combat.
- PRIMARY PURPOSE: Spiritia Warfare
- ACTIVATION COST (Amount of Spiritia required to activate the unit): 100 Spiritia Points
- DAMAGE: see the Spiritia RPG rules.
- SPECIAL EFFECT: when activated, gives the user(s) a 100-to-1 Song Energy/Spiritia point ratio, and the ability to use major Spiritia powers.
3. HAND TO HAND COMBAT
If necessary, the Sound Booster No. 2 craft can ram an opponent. The attack effectively destroys the Sound Booster.
DAMAGE:
ALTERNATIVE ARMAMENTS
Instead of having spiritia warfare equipment, the Sound Booster No.2 craft can have the following armaments installed:
1. MAULER REB-23 LASER GUN: (1)
One laser guns mounted in the nose of the Sound Booster. It is fixed forward and is the same as the laser guns in the wing-roots of the VF-19. It fires a free-electron laser with a maximum output of 1.5 MW at 6+ G loads.
- PRIMARY PURPOSE: Air-to-air
- SECONDARY PURPOSE: Air-to-ground
- RANGE: 50,000 m
- DAMAGE: 1D6x10+10 MD
- RATE OF FIRE: Single shots only.
- PAYLOAD: Effectively Unlimited.
2. Internal Armament Loading Bays (2)
Each Sound Warfare assembly can be replaced by an internal armament loading bay, which can be customized for different mission objectives and carry a variety of different payloads. Any type of internal pallet may be used, though in the recon configuration, additional fuel is the norm.
- NUMBER OF PALLETS: 2, 1 per wing.
- LOADOUT: B-11 Pallet with 2 AMM-7, ASM-5, CHM-2, SACHM-2, or GBU-10C (the Sound Booster must flip over to release the bombs); though any type of Pallet System can be used.
3. Wing Hard Points (2)
The Sound Booster No.2 craft has 2 hardpoint per wing, for a total of 4. Usually no munitions are carried on hard points because of the reduction in stealthiness. Due to AI limitations, Reaction and Dimension Eater missiles are never installed. The following is composed of the standard VF-19 era missiles. For alternatives, refer to the
Hardpoint and Missile Details.
Standard VF-19 Munitions per Hardpoint
HMM-111CS High-Maneuverability Missile
