Kirutora Keruēru [Quiltra Queleual] Class Landing Assault Ship

LandingShip (40K)

BACKGROUND

The 3,000 m long large battleship Kirutora Kerueeru is categorized as a planet-landing assault ship. It features strong armour.

The Zentrādi Forces have Main Fleets that are composed of several hundred thousand to several million ships. The Main Fleets are formed from such vessels as battleships, transport ships and gunships. While such ships as the Noputi Baganisu and Keadouru Magudomira are mainly used for fleet command, the Kirutora Keruēru, Suvaaru Saran, and Medium Gunship are indispensable ships that compose the Main Fleet. Groups of these military vessel were seen in the Bodoru Main Fleet, and they shouldered a part of the fleets' fighting capabilities.

The planet landing assault ship Kirutora Keruēru is assumed to assault enemy positions and commit military personnel and weapons to battle. For that reason, its solidity is also higher than that of the other warships, and it can endure some enemy bombardments. Also, it has a wide operational range, as it plays such roles as transporting goods to the front.

The Kirutora Keruēru has a cylindrical type of hull. Compared to other Zentrādi warships, its firepower has been held back as a result of it being constructed in a way that values solidity. Several armaments are installed in the lower part of the ship, and the ship is able to make attacks against enemies in the front.

A concentration of thruster nozzles are installed in the rear. In the top part are ship-borne craft launch ports, for such vehicles as the Large Landing Pod.

In many respects, this Battle Cruiser is a massive beach-landing vessel, except rather than a distant shore, it drops its troops and supplies on distant planets or some other star-swept battle front. Its numerous hatches, scattered throughout the ship, makes it possible for immediate dispersal of mechanized troops. Generally, as many as 250 combat troops can be armed and dispatched simultaneously within a matter of minutes (16 melees). If already on combat alert and prepared for an assault, the 250 troops can be launched instantly, at a moment's notice, with an additional 80 ready to mobilize within two minutes (8 melees). Remember, ALL Zentraedi personnel are trained warriors.

Unlike its sister spacecraft, the Zentraedi Landing Ship has a comparatively large facility for recovery and storage. Its two lower decks are predominantly storage areas and hangars. Alien specimens, ores, additional Mobile Weapons, troops and supplies can be stored here with ease.

Modified Ships In The Unified Forces

After the remnants of the Bodoru Main Fleet were incorporated into the Unified Space Forces, this ship became a common sight to Earthlings. Most incorporated vessels have been modified so that humans can serve alongside the giant Zentrādi crew, although many ships remain in their original -giants only- state. All Mobile Weapon hangars and Zentrādi sections on modified ships have human-size catwalks at half-height running along the walls.

Although its exterior appearance has not changed much, the Zentraadi carrier's interior was redesigned to accomodate human-size crew personnel, especially levels 2, 3, and 4. This was necessary in order to provide the usual comfort human beings (and micronized Zentraadi) have been used to on Earth. Original-size Zentraadi have much more luxurious living quarters than before.

All these changes left much less room for Mobile Weapons compared to the old version. The armour has been reinforced and although the heavy armament stayed the same, the anti-Mobile Weapon armament have also been reinforced. The Zentrādi carrier usually serves as a flagship for small patrol/intervention fleets.

OFFENSIVE SYSTEMS

1. Standard* Guided Converging Beam Gun (17)

9 turrets are on the top, 2 turrets are on each side (toward the front), and 4 turrets are on the bottom (toward the rear). The turrets stand ready to pop-up out from under their sliding hatches to fire. Each Turret is capable of 360° rotation with a 180° arc of fire.

* (Dojinshi)

ZentMissileLauncher1 (12K)

2. Small* Anti-Air Missile Launcher (96)

40 turrets are on the top, 25 turrets are on each side, and 6 turrets are on the bottom (in the mid-section). The turrets stand ready to pop-up out from under their sliding hatches to fire. Each Turret is capable of 360° rotation with a 180° arc of fire.

* (Dojinshi)

5. Anti-Air Beam Guns* (128)

Evenly distributed over the hull. These Close in Weapons Systems (CIWS) can either be computer or manually controlled, and do not suffer the negative modifiers to hitting attacking Mobile Weapons that larger starship based weapons do. They are intended primarily for anti-aircraft and anti-missile defense, but can do moderate damage against smaller enemy spacecraft, if they get too close. At most, 4 guns can be directed against a single target at any time.

* (Dojinshi)

6. Micro-Missile Launchers (32)*

Evenly distributed over the hull. These missile launchers can either be computer or manually controlled, and do not suffer the negative modifiers to hitting attacking Mobile Weapons that larger starship based weapons do. They are intended primarily for anti-aircraft and anti-missile defense, but can do moderate damage against smaller enemy spacecraft, if they get too close. At most, 4 launchers can be directed against a single target at any time.

7. SHIP-BORNE CRAFT

The ship carries a great number of carrier-borne small Mobile Weapons. The Mobile Weapons are primarily used for both defence and tactical missions.
NOTE: due to space limitations, there is a bit of either/or with the number of Mobile Weapons that the ship is able to effectively maintain and sortie. E.g. carrying 180 VFs and 80 Destroids, or 240 VFs and 40 Destroids is possible, but carrying 240 VFs and 80 Destroids is not.
