Background
The Zentrādi Forces have Main Fleets that are composed of several hundred thousand to several million ships. The Main Fleets are formed from such vessels as battleships, transport ships and gunships. While such ships as the Noputi Baganisu and Keadouru Magudomira are mainly used for fleet command; the Kirutora Keruēru, Suvāru Saran, and Medium Gunship are indispensable ships in the Main Fleets.
The Picket Ship is the smallest ship in the Zentrādi Forces, and it bears the burden of such things as supporting the other ships, and controlling the sorties of the Jināru Fighter Pods. It is furnished with a launch port in the center of the stern for vehicles such as the Jināru.
Picket Ships are used for reconnaissance, light assault, and support duty.
General Layout
Deck One (top) is a Mobile Weapon hangar containing combat units and combat crew. Exit hatches line the sides, and there's a large hatch on top.
Deck Two is the Command Deck, with a small bridge, communications, navigation, weapon systems control, and officer's quarters.
Deck Three is a crew and hangar area, with several side airlocks, and additional Mobile Weapons.
Deck Four is mostly a hangar with additional Mobile Weapons, vehicles, a small crew area in the bow, and a large hatch on the bottom.
The crew's mental burden is generally high as they mobilize together with other ships in this small hull. Also, the Scout Ship has a high rate of attrition as it is engaged in security and reconnaissance (scouting) missions in the outer circumference of the fleet. The Scout Ships almost never appeared in the vanguard during fleet battles, and are located in the periphery and in the rear under the pretext of a precautionary deployment.
Due to the small size of the ship and the limited space inside it, the Scout Ships do not have the self-sufficient habitability that is characteristic of the other Zentrādi warships. The ship is fitted out with living quarters, weapons, and so on centred on the front part of the ship. This layout is the same as the Standard Battleship. Its appearance is similar to the Standard Battleship as this is to mislead the enemy.
About 20% of the entire fleet is made up of this class and its family of ships, although it often seems to be less as they are rarely located in the center of the fleet. However, it is an important and hardworking ship that supports the vital aspects of vigilance and reconnaissance, and are indispensable in the fleet.
Modified Ships In The Unified Forces
After the remnants of the Bodoru Main Fleet were incorporated into the Unified Space Forces, this ship became a common sight to Earthlings. Most incorporated vessels have been modified so that humans can serve alongside the giant Zentrādi crew, although many ships remain in their original—giants only—state.
All Mobile Weapon hangars and Zentrādi sections on modified ships have human-size catwalks at half-height running along the walls. The Jināru Air-battle Pod/shuttle bay in the rear only services small shuttles and Valkyries.
Assignment to one of these vessels is unpopular, because its small size does not allow for the presence of many of the usual luxuries installed on larger ships. Nonetheless, it is a rugged design which tends to see much action.
The park is a much smaller version of the ones found in all Unified Forces ships.

NOTES:
(1) Depleting the MDC will put the Standard Beam Guns and a full third of the ship's offensive batteries out of commission. This handicaps the ship's fighting capabilities.
(2) Depleting the MDC will put the command bridge and auxiliary command bridge out of commission. It will also shut down all weapon controls, and the majority of the Mobile Weapon launch facilities—rendering the ship flyable, but its weapon systems unable to fire, and its troops unable to scramble except for small batches.
(3) Depleting the MDC will shut down communications and the engines, setting the ship adrift. Life support, gravity control, and weapons will be severely limited.
(4) Depleting the MDC of the main engines will force the ship to rely on its auxiliary engine, and will render the Gravity Control System useless due to loss of power. Depleting the MDC of the main engines AND auxiliary engines will leave the ship adrift in space. If in an atmosphere, the ship will crash.
(5) Not standard. Modified ships ONLY.
(6) Punches a hole into a specific area of the hull. Note: with the outer hull, the hole will only give access to the weapon turret access corridor (approximately 31 m wide). To gain access to the inside of the ship, one must go through the second hull. The damage control system will automatically seal off any compartments that have been exposed to vacuum.
(6) Not standard. Modified ships ONLY. See below (Defensive Systems) for details.

Offensive Systems
1. Standard Guided Converging Beam Gun (8 [3])
Two turrets each in the ventral, dorsal, and both sides of the front third of the hull. The turrets stand ready to pop-up out from under their sliding hatches to fire. Each turret is capable of 360° rotation with a 180° arc of fire.
- Range: 1,200 km
- Damage: 2D4x1,000 M.D. each.
- Rate of Fire: each gun can fire 2 times per melee in any combination of volleys; minimum per volley is 3.
- Payload: effectively unlimited as long as the main engines are operational.
2. Small Anti-Air Missile Launcher (4)
One on the top, one on the bottom, and one on the side of the main engines in the rear third of the hull. The turrets stand ready to pop-up out from under their sliding hatches to fire. Each turret is capable of 360° rotation with a 180° arc of fire.
- Range: 50 km
- Speed: mach 2.4 (3,000 kmph)
- Damage: 3D6x10 M.D. to 24 m radius.
- Rate of Fire: each turret can fire 1 missile 2 times per melee in any combination of volleys; minimum per volley is 3.
- Payload: effectively unlimited (max 2 missiles per turret per melee)
3. Anti-Air Beam Guns (8)
Evenly distributed over the hull. These CIWS (Close in Weapons Systems) can either be computer or manually controlled, and do not suffer the negative modifiers to hitting attacking Mobile Weapons that larger starship based weapons do. They are intended primarily for anti-aircraft and anti-missile defense, but can do moderate damage against smaller enemy spacecraft, if they get too close.
The gun turrets can be set on automatic during combat, during which time they have a +2 to strike due to their advanced tracking systems. The gun turrets' tracking systems will target incoming missiles first, and attacking Mobile Weapons second.
Unified Forces modified ships only! Standard ships rely on Mobile Weapons for close-in defence.
- Range: 1,100 m
- Damage: 1D8 per round. 1D4x10 MD per 10 round burst. Refer to the Gun Pods and Beam Machine Gun Burst and Spray Rules for alternatives.
- Rate of Fire: equal to the controller's number of hand-to-hand attacks. If set on automatic, each gun turret can fire up to 4 times per melee in any combination of bursts. At most, 4 guns can be directed against a single target at any time.
- Payload: 40 rounds per melee. If set on automatic, the gun turrets are limited to bursts of 10 or 20 rounds per attack.
4. Micro-Missile Launchers (4)
Evenly distributed over the hull. These missile launchers can either be computer or manually controlled, and do not suffer the negative modifiers to hit attacking Mobile Weapons that the larger starship based weapons do. They are intended primarily for anti-aircraft and anti-missile defense, but can do moderate damage against smaller enemy spacecraft if they get too close. At most, 2 launchers can be directed against a single target at any time.
Unified Forces modified ships only! Standard ships rely on Mobile Weapons for close-in defence.
- Missile Types: close-combat seeking missiles
- Range: 4.8 km
- Speed: Mach 2+ in an atmosphere.
- Damage: 2D8x10+10 M.D. to 3 m radius.
- Rate of Fire: each launcher can fire 1–12 missiles 2 times per melee in any combination of volleys. At most, 4 launchers can be directed against a single target at any time.
- Payload: effectively unlimited (max 12 missiles per launcher per melee).
5. Ship-borne Craft
The ship carries a great number of carrier-borne small Mobile Weapons. The Mobile Weapons are primarily used for both defence and tactical missions. Due to space limitations, there is a bit of either/or with the number of Mobile Weapons that the ship is able to effectively maintain and sortie. For example:
✓ 30 Rigādo and 0 Jināru (30 total)
✓ 10 Rigādo and 20 Jināru (30 total)

Electronic Warfare Scout Ship
The following stats are conversion notes that detail the changes from the base Picket Ship stats.
The electronic warfare specification of the Scout Ship. Unusually for the Zentrādi Forces, it has hardly any direct offensive capabilities. Except for self-defence armaments, the entire hull is covered in radar and all sorts of antenna. The hangars within the ship are also largely filled with computing devices (computers) for information analysis.
The Electronic Warfare Scout Ship is more scarce and more expensive than the standard Scout Ship due to it being enriched with electronic warfare equipment. Its missions are also a little bit different: they mainly form into reconnaissance squadrons with about 2–4 Electronic Warfare Scout Ships, and engage in missions away from the fleet.
This class of ship almost never engages in direct combat. Their function is to detect the enemy from a distance greater than the enemy can detect, investigate the opponent, and inform friendly troops. If the enemy detects the Scout Ship, fleeing is the ship's top priority. For this reason, the ship is also equipped with high-performance reactors, and has high-acceleration performance. The Fold device is similarly high performance, and the ship can move quickly and far.
The Electronic Warfare Scout Ship is equipped with a type of anti-radar deception device that emits unique electromagnetic waves from the hull. The ship also has equipment with the same kind of function to prevent detection by Fold Waves, and it is extremely difficult to detect the ship during espionage activities.
The ship-borne vehicles are also full of Battle Pods for reconnaissance, and there are few Battle Pods purely for combat. It is also possible for the ship to be loaded with a Kerukaria [Quel-Quallie] reconnaissance pod. However, since there is not enough hangar space inside the ship, the large armoured reconnaissance pod is moored outside the Scout Ship out in the open.
As the Electronic Scout Ship is no different from the rest of the ships in the Zentrādi Forces, it is a little half-baked for electronic warfare missions. However, considered that it could be used over periods of thousands of years, one could say that it is a very good military vessel.
Electronic Warfare Scout Ships that survived the First Interstellar War were later attached to the Unified Forces and engaged in reconnaissance and exploration missions. They were refurbished with Unified Forces specification equipment and updated in the 2020's. They were further refurbished and updated in the 40's and 60's, where they acquired an extremely high performance, including Active Stealth.
RPG STATS
Crew: 30–45 giant size
MDC by Location
Standard Beam Beam Guns (4) 150 each
Small Missile Launchers (2) 150 each
(1) Radar Array 1,000
(2) Large Sensor Antenna (2) 600 each
(3) Antenna (12) 100 each
NOTES:
(1) Depleting the MDC will put the Fold Wave Sensor out of commission, and reduce the range of detection for all Sensor Systems by half. The ship's wide-area search functions are also disabled. This handicaps the ship's detection capabilities.
(2) Depleting the MDC of each antenna will reduce the range of detection for all Sensor Systems (except the Fold Wave Sensor) by one quarter, and one half of the ship's targeted-area search functions. Depleting the MDC of both antennas and the Radar Array will put ALL of the ship's sensor systems out of condition, forcing it to rely on allied ships or Ship-borne craft for sensor information.
(3) Each antenna lost will reduce the effectiveness of the Anti-Radar/Anti-Fold Wave Deception Device by 1/12 by creating holes in the electromagnetic waves that are being emitted from the hull.

Scout Ship (Private Research Ship)
The "Mamiya Rinzo V (the 5th) Maru" was sold-off to the private sector in 2047. After engaging in [navigable] route development for more than 10 years, the Mamiya Rinzo V Maru was later transferred basically for free to a private explorer. As of 2066, the ship is on an adventure called 'the galactic frontier'.
The Scout Ships of the new era—modified or newly built by the New Unified Government—were converted to Earth equipment. However, the Unified Forces could capture hardly any of the Electronic Warfare models even in the decisive battle with the Bodoruzā Fleet. For this reason, most were newly built in the 2020's after the capture of the Factory Satellites. This is the reason for the Earth-borne Zentrādi Forces' vessels. Be that as it may, since the hulls and reactors were still in the Zentrādi Forces specification, they were directly more robust while also being more inefficient than the New Unified Forces ships that were built after the 2030's.
Unlike the original ships, most of the electronic and search equipment on the Scout Ships were changed to the Unified Forces specification, and even though the maintenance was troublesome (although one might say that it was at the Unified Forces' standard level), their performance dramatically improved. However, the Scout Ships were retired one-after-another in the 2050's and sold-off as surplus to the private sector, since the new generation of military vessels that were successively commissioned in the 2030's had become inferior in all aspects—such as cost and performance.
When they became civilian ships, all of the armaments were removed, and the affiliation and registration were also changed. The ships were not uniform when they became civilian, and while some were armed as-is, in other cases modifications were made—such as changing to new equipment provided by the armed forces, or changing to equipment developed for civilian use.
Their main roles after retirement covered a wide variety of areas, including the development of space routes, the discovery of developable planets (star systems), and the investigation of natural phenomena in the universe. The Private Research Ships appear to have been primarily sold off to enterprises engaged in such tasks. However, in some cases the ships were sold off to private adventurers and explorers that were funded by such things as government or businesses.
The number that were built is unexpectedly large, reaching over 200 ships.
