- The New Macross 7 Emigrant Fleet journeys near the Planet Varohta and encounters a mysterious enemy (the Varohta Forces).
- Fire Bomber's Basara Nekki begins singing at the scene of the battle.
- Varohta operatives infiltrate City 7. Outbreak of the 'vampire incidents'.

- The war with the mysterious Varohta Forces continues. 27-year-old First Lieutenant Mahara retires from active duty in the Unified Space Forces, and crosses paths with 17-year-old Shiba Midou at a rather opportune moment.
- The Protodevilin Capture Operation via a Sound Barrier.
- Basara Folds to a planet inhabited by Unified Government Emigrants, and encounters an unknown Zentraadi Mobile Weapon.
- February
- 2nd: Mylene Flare Jenius celebrates her 15th birthday.
- Operation Stargazer: the formation of the "Ice Planet" Special Attack Force and an attack operation is undertaken. Attack by Captain Max in a VF-22S in the operation. Mayor Miria becomes acting captain of Battle 7.
- Awakening of Protodeviluns Zomudo and Goramu. Deprived of Spritia by Sivil, Basara goes into critical condition.
- The final battle against Geperunicchi. Use of the Sound Buster in combat. Revival of Basara Nekki.
- Conclusion of the Protodevilun War. The Protodevilun evolve into a self-Spritia-regenerating race with Basara Nekki's singing as the catalyst. The surviving Protodevilun leave by going across the universe.

- Aspiring idol singer Passero and her friend Liza pass auditions to participate in the "Lynn Minmay Story" musical, under the eyes of the idol Canari Minmay, aboard the Macross 9 Super Long Range Emigrant Fleet. But Passero is in trouble and encounters Wolf, an assassin on the run from the Mafia, and Rafale, a Cosmo Bike Racer. [Macross Generation]

- Release of "Dynamite Fire", Fire Bomber's fourth album.
- Mylene Jenius ponders independence by starting her own act and gig aboard the Macross 7.
- Basara Nekki journeys across the galaxy alone.

- Leading Protoculture researcher, Dr. Mao Nome, publishes the "Management and Prevention of V-type Infection" paper with joint-researchers Ranshe Mei and Grace O'Connor, in Cosmos Nature Academic Journal.

- The elite pilots of the VF-X squadron, based on the Vahalla III, defeat the Zentraadi/Anti-Unified Government group that previously kidnapped the Milky Dolls, and subsequently attack the Earth with a medium-sized fleet of Zentraadi ships, complete with a Command Flagship.
- Release of Fire Bomber's "Ultra Fire" album.
- Developement of the YF-24 is cancelled, but Shinsei Industry continues the development, focusing on ISC. Thus, the YF-24 Evolution, which contained ISC in the fuselage, was completed.
The VMFA-235 Death Angels are formed under the direction of Lt. Colonel Jack Anderson, Air Group Commander, 1st MEU, M15 Fleet. Lt. Col. Anderson selects Major Toni Lombardi to lead the group. The 1st MEU is stationed on the UNS Vigilance, a Guantanamo class Carrier.
The M15 Fleet engages the remnants of the Varohta Fleet in battle.
The 1st MEU rotates back to Earth, with the 13th MEU replacing it on the UNS Peleliu in the M15 Fleet. The Death Angels remain with the M15 Fleet.
Col. Anderson takes command of the 13th MEU and the newly promoted Lt. Col. Toni Lombardi takes command of the 7th Marine Air Group in the 13th MEU. Several squadrons are added, including the famous VMA-214 Black Sheep, VMRF-1 Wolf, and a detachment of the VMAQ-5 FoxFire.
Sector M45-3 Campaign Setting:
The M15 fleet had to drop half of its population off on Ceasar, one of the more habitable planets in sector M45-3, because of an internal disaster. The M15 continued on its way afterwards, promising to return for them.
After losing too many messages because of things like Fold Faults, the emigrants in the sector settle as colonists. However, large groups leave Ceaser due to the situation, to found the other major colonies in the sector. Thereafter, Ceasar serves as the Sector Government, as it is the one established by the M15 to be in charge of the other colonies in the sector.
