High-Speed Raiding Space Cruiser

BACKGROUND

In a light space cruiser design that stresses navigational performance, the High-Speed Raiding Space Cruiser boasts of the highest speed in the Varohta Forces warships. The fold system has also been enhanced so that the attainable range in 1 fold cruise is long, and it has just enough surplus output to do a refold within a short time, too. Moreover, the armament and armour are excellent compared to the cruiser's size, and the ship is able to cope with an extensive usage as it is said to have infiltration manoeuvring for special forces things like reconnaissance in-force and intelligence missions.

Though the hull configuration is similar to that of the Standard Battle-Line Battleship, the cruiser has a smarter shape without the aperture in the bow and stern, and it has a degraded ship-borne craft operational capability. The cruiser is armed in the warship's front with the missile and carrier-based aircraft shooting mechanisms that are in-common with the Standard Battle-Line Battleship and the like. The curved configuration of the warship's structure indicates that it is an old-generation stealth warship.

One Main Battery and two Sub-Batteries per side are arranged on both the left and right sides of the hull, and the structure of each battery is the same as the other Varohta Forces warships.

92 were operated by the Varohta Forces.

DEFENSIVE SYSTEMS

Note: Refer to the Ship Defensive Systems for stats unless otherwise noted herein:

1. HEAT AND RADIATION SHIELDS
2. SELF-DESTRUCT
3. ENERGY CONVERSION ARMOUR
4. SHIP-BORNE PIN-POINT BARRIER SYSTEM
:

5. TOTAL BARRIER SYSTEM:

OFFENSIVE SYSTEMS

1. MAIN BATTERY: SUPERSIZE-BORE BEAM GUN (2)

Toward the rear the hull. Only the nozzle of the beam gun is exposed. The beam is aligned [with the target] by twisting in a deflection field.

2. SUB-BATTERY: LARGE-BORE BEAM GUN (2)

On both sides of the bow. Only the nozzle of the beam gun is exposed. The beam is aligned [with the target] by twisting in a deflection field.

3. SUB-BATTERY: SMALL-BORE BEAM GUN (2)

In the center of the hull, below the bridge. Only the nozzle of the beam gun is exposed. The beam is aligned [with the target] by twisting in a deflection field.

4. CONVERGING BEAM GUNS (6)

Clustered on the bow. Only the nozzle of the beam gun is exposed. The beam guns can only fire straight ahead.

5. LARGE ANTI-WARSHIP MISSILE LAUNCHER (2)

The lower part of the center of the hull is armed with a Large Anti-Warship Missile sliding type missile magazines launching mechanism. Each one is loaded with 9 Large Anti-Warship Missiles.

6. RAPID-FIRE HIGH-SPEED MISSILE LAUNCHER (1)

On the hull around the top fins. Only the nozzle of the missile launcherers are exposed. Each launcher is a cluster of 12 missile launchers.

7. SMALL ANTI-AIRCRAFT GUNS (24)

Mounted all over the hull, approximately 8 per side. These Close in Weapons Systems (CIWS) can either be computer or manually controlled, and do not suffer the negative modifiers to hitting attacking mobile weapons, that larger starship based weapons do. They are intended primarily for anti-aircraft and anti-missile defense, but can do moderate damage against smaller enemy spacecraft if they get too close. At most 4 guns can be directed against a single target at any time.

8. SHIP-BORNE CRAFT

The mother-ship can be equipped with Variable Fighters to increase its versatility. The Variable Fighters are housed in the hangar on the upper half of the rear of the hull. The top of the front of the crusier has 6 standard VF fighter catapults. They are constructed to launch 1 craft each, sequentially, from the rear. They are primarily used for defence, but can also be deployed on tactical missions.

SENSOR SYSTEMS

Note: Refer to the Ship Sensor Systems for stats unless otherwise noted herein:

1. LONG-RANGE DETECTION SYSTEM: Range: 2 AU
2. LONG-RANGE LASER/SATELLITE RELAY COMMUNICATIONS
3. SEARCH AND TARGETING RADAR
: Range: 6,500 km
4. SUPER DIMENSIONAL SPACE COMMUNICATIONS: Range: 500 light years

OTHER STANDARD EQUIPMENT

Note: Refer to the Ship Other Systems for stats unless otherwise noted herein:

1. AIRLOCKS: 14 spread over the hull
2. ARMOURY
3. CARGO HATCHES
: 6 spread over the hull
4. GRAVITY CONTROL
5. LIFE SUPPORT SYSTEMS
6. SPACE FOLD SYSTEM
: the Cruiser has just enough surplus output to do a refold within a short period of time.
7. SUBLIGHT ENGINES

COMBAT BONUSES FOR SPACESHIP TRAINING

Note: only the hangars and cargo bays are macron (battroid) scale. The rest of the ship is micron scale.
