Vanguard Frigate

BACKGROUND

The multi-purpose light destroyer of the Varohta Forces. It is assumed that 294 were operated, and they are the most abundantly produced warship by these forces. As this size of warship, it excels in the balance of mobility with armaments and armour. In addition, it's versatility is also high because the frigate can be equipped with 2 (a maximum of 3) variable fighters; and it possesses the ability to accomplish various missions. The Vanguard Frigate showed a high operability, and it was put into every service, from fleet-scale operations to small-scale reconnaissance, enemy searches, escort, and intelligence actions. Though it is a small warship, it has an excellent firepower in it's abundant armaments, and it also played an active role in large-scale fleet battles such as the battle on orbit of the Planet Rakusu.

The same as the other warships in the Varohta fleet, the upper half of the rear of the hull is an aircraft hanger, and the lower half is the engine section. The lower part of the center of the hull is armed with Large Anti-Warship Missile launching mechanism.

DEFENSIVE SYSTEMS

Note: Refer to the Ship Defensive Systems for stats unless otherwise noted herein:

1. HEAT AND RADIATION SHIELDS
2. SELF-DESTRUCT
3. ENERGY CONVERSION ARMOUR
4. SHIP-BORNE PIN-POINT BARRIER SYSTEM
:

5. ANTI-DETECTION SYSTEM: -20% to Read Sensory Instrument checks to detect and track the frigate.

OFFENSIVE SYSTEMS

1. MAIN BATTERY: MEDIUM-BORE BEAM GUNS (2)

Concentrated in the center of the hull with the sub-batteries and high-speed missile launchers. Only the nozzle of the beam gun is exposed. The beam is aligned [with the target] by twisting in a deflection field.

2. SUB-BATTERY: SMALL-BORE BEAM GUNS (4)

Concentrated in the center of the hull with the main-batteries and high-speed missile launchers. Only the nozzle of the beam gun is exposed. The beam is aligned [with the target] by twisting in a deflection field.

3. LARGE ANTI-WARSHIP MISSILE LAUNCHER (1)

The lower part of the center of the hull is armed with a Large Anti-Warship Missile sliding type missile magazines launching mechanism. Each one is loaded with 9 Large Anti-Warship Missiles.

4. RAPID-FIRE HIGH-SPEED MISSILE LAUNCHER (2)

Concentrated in the center of the hull with the main-batteries and sub-batteries. Only the nozzle of the missile launcherers are exposed. Each launcher is a cluster of 12 missile launchers.

4. SMALL ANTI-AIRCRAFT GUNS (12)

Mounted all over the hull, approximately 8 per side. These Close in Weapons Systems (CIWS) can either be computer or manually controlled, and do not suffer the negative modifiers to hitting attacking mobile weapons, that larger starship based weapons do. They are intended primarily for anti-aircraft and anti-missile defense, but can do moderate damage against smaller enemy spacecraft if they get too close. At most 4 guns can be directed against a single target at any time.

5. SHIP-BORNE CRAFT

The frigate can be equipped with variable fighters to increase its versatility. The variable fighters are housed in the hangar on the upper half of the rear of the hull. They are primarily used for defence, but can also be deployed on tactical missions.

SENSOR SYSTEMS

Note: Refer to the Ship Sensor Systems for stats unless otherwise noted herein:

1. LONG-RANGE LASER/SATELLITE RELAY COMMUNICATIONS
2. SEARCH AND TARGETING RADAR
: Range: 6,500 km
3. SUPER DIMENSIONAL SPACE COMMUNICATIONS: Range: 500 light years
4. SUPER LONG-RANGE ENEMY DETECTION SYSTEM: same abilities as the Varohta Long-Range-Detection System with greater range. Range: 8 AU.

OTHER STANDARD EQUIPMENT

Note: Refer to the Ship Other Systems for stats unless otherwise noted herein:

1. AIRLOCKS: 6 spread over the hull
2. ARMOURY
3. CARGO HATCHES
: 1 in the rear of the ship, below the hanger.
4. GRAVITY CONTROL
5. LIFE SUPPORT SYSTEMS
6. SPACE FOLD SYSTEM
7. SUBLIGHT ENGINES

COMBAT BONUSES FOR SPACECRAFT TRAINING

Note: only the hangars and cargo bays are macron (battroid) scale. The rest of the ship is micron scale.
